Vivian: Welcome to Pointbet Live support, how can we help you?
Jay: hello Vivian
Vivian: Hello
Jay: where are you located?
Vivian: Pointbet is based in British Virgin Islands.
Jay: Are you licensed there?
Vivian: PointBet International Limited was incorporated on the 3rd day of May 2000 in the British Virgin Islands as an International Business Company. Registered company number : 385783.
Jay: are you licensed to take bets there?
Vivian: Could you be more specific?
Jay: well, before I send money to a sportsbook, I like to know if they are licensed and by who
Jay: ??
Vivian: Please refer to "About Us" on the Help section. You can get the information there sir.
Jay: I have been on it and I don't see anything about where your offfice is physically located or whether or not you are licensed and if so where.
Vivian: It is our company policy not to show that kind of information sir. But for your information, we have a lot of loyal customers from around the world. And we always try our best to give the best service to our customers.
Jay: So your location and whether or not you are licensed is secret? That seems odd for a legitimate business. All legitimate operations let the customers know where they are located and if they are licensed. This is new to me.
Jay: How long have you been taking bets on the internet?
Vivian: The information on our website is the only information that we can provide to our customers. We have run this business for years.
Jay: Years? I have been following this industry for years and have never heard of you before. You must keep a very low profile. Unfortunately, I am not comfortable sending money to a place that seems hesitant to answer simple questions. It's like you have something to hide.
Jay: I will contact the British Virgin Isand government in the morning to see if you are legitimate.
Vivian: We really have been running this business for years. Our customers are most from Asia.
Vivian: Not a lot of people from the United States have heard about us. But lately, we receive a lot of customers from US.
Jay: you can't tell me if you are licensed or where you are located. That sounds shady to me.
Jay: Are you in Singapore? Asia? British Virgin Islands? Or somewhere else? Are you licensed? By who? These are not hard questions for a legitimate offshore sportsbook.
Vivian: It's ok if you do not feel comfortable betting with us. We will not force anyone to bet with us. But for your information, we always give the best service to our customers.
Jay: ok, I will check with the BVI governement in the morning. Good night and thank you.
Vivian: Have a nice day.
Vivian: Thank you for chatting. Good-bye.

One of the rules of becoming a "International Business Company" is that you don't conduct business in the BVI.

Their domain registrar is:

It definately seems that they market primarily ASIAN customers....

It also seems that they are not really interested in USA/canada customers,....

It is a recommended Book at Covers.com (but then again so is SIA)....

They have BIG BIG limits aswell & quite a sophisticated website....

anyone else have any info?

I have one contact (European) who had a serious dispute with Pointbet about a winning wager that was voided after an event. The book claimed line error.

These situations are always one of the industry grey areas. Different books have different standards. I've had Olympic allow me some very large obvious line errors. I've had Intertops void a bet on a line that was only off by maybe 15 cents from the consensus.

This situation at Pointbet was much closer to the latter. Plus the wager wasn't cancelled until after the event (and it would have won). It looked bad to me.

I have seen alot of referances to pointbet here. Did a search and found that the soccer posters have been using for years. I do not recall a specific payout complaint with them and have no record of such. SP(I-XX) stated once that Pinnacle moved off of Pointbets soccer lines, but that was his opinion only.

Pancho? how did you send & receive funds? ur Canadian right?

8 cent sides in Bases, Dime totals & Dime Run Lines has definately peaked my interest....

I will Monitor their lines for the next few days to see if they offer anything different from MANSION or Pinnacle (the only other two books I am aware of offering such low VIG on bases).

Used moneybookers for deposits and withdrawals there personally.

You will get a bit screwed on exchange rates back and forth.

moneybookers is in canadian dollars. Not sure if I could change it to US. I guess it would help US to US transfers. Haven't used moneybookers in some time. I should really check that...

HrPark....

here is what I am thinking....

USD Bank account (Td Canadatrust) to USD account at MONEYBOOKERS to USD account at Pointbet..... Then conceivably, back the same way.

Only thing I am not 100% sure on is wether or not my I can easily transfer back & forth between my USD bank account & my USD Money Bookers account....

SS,

Had a negative experience with a bank transfer there. I assume it was just an error of somekind. Had to nervously wait 2-3 weeks before the money finally found its way back to my moneybookers account. My bank told me that the infomation asked for on their site was not enough to make it to my bank account. Apparently they were correct.

exactly for this reason that I think it is better to use 'MONEYBOOKERS' to send back & forth....

I wish they had phucking NETELLER? but they obviously target ASIAN customers.... but that intrigues me, perhaps Unique Lines?

Three Outs that have 8 cent bases & dime RL's & Totals? am I dreaming?

If you want to get money into your moneybookers account you could just withdrawal money from 5dimes, Pinnacle or another book which has moneybookers.

You can withdrawal via check at moneybookers for virtually nothing.

They are predominantly a soccer book. They take substantial action on soccer (up to 25k on known leagues) but their limits on North American sports are significantly lower, only 2k for baseball etc.

Bottom line is their main business is soccer.
