Gonna see if I can build on yesterday's 3-0 (with 2 doggies and a short fave)
Baltimore -112....I backed Boston las tnight, now I'm gonna reverse field and take the O's in this spot. As successful as Clement has been the last 2 yrs in home day games, he's struggled about as much in the away night scenerio. Lopez has become a very consistant pitcher for the O's, consistantly good at that. Until running into crafty David Wells last night, the O's bats have been on fire. I look for them to pick back up where they left off. Lopez has had very good success vs. Bos in his career. The BoSox feast on bad pitchers, but come back down to earth vs. quality guys like Lopez.
Cincy -1 1/2 (+130)...Let's keep going against Kip Wells and Oliver Perez ( 0-5 combined with an 8.29 ERA after six starts, going into last night), until we figure out if these guys are for real or not. Injuries have slowed Wells (Perez should be OK). Also, we get Eric Milton coming off his best performance so far this season, and Great American Ballpark is turning into a tough place for visitors to win. Right now, Pittsburgh is having a tough time winning ANYWHERE.
Toronto +123...Gonna make a small play on Tor here. Very enticing considering how well Chacin has pitched (3-0 1.42), and how badly the Yanks have struggled. It's obvious Mussina is no longer the dominant pitcher he once was.Alaso, the middle of Toronto's lineup have hit Mussina in the past.Chacin beat the Yanks last yr at Yankee Stadium, so he seems fearless. Until last night, Tor have been hitting very well (vs. good pitchers: Schilling, Arroyo, K Rodgers). Yanks bullpen is still a shambles.
