I guess I could service her while he is out of service. Because he might not be playing baseball but there is one more important thing he will be missing also.

He will defintely be missed on both ends Offensively and Defensively. for get about his bad start at the plate this year, Nomar is a pure hitter, and has proof.

Rainbow- He will be missed offensively, but Hairston is a much superior defender.

Hairston isn't a shortstop. Looks like Neifi Perez will play full-time. Done a nice job so far. He's adequate.

d2- sorry, you are right. Hairston/perez is a decent 2/s combo.

Nomar I think you are confused with someone else, Nomar has a won a golden glove every year up till his injuries, how many does Hairston have? Nomar is in the top 5 in all of Baseball when he"s healthy.

I think Nomar can still hit but he is certainly a great defender. He has a strong arm but his range is limited and his throws are often erratic. He's an adequate defender at best.

How about Nomar going through that pre at bat ritual, with the glove grabbing and the toe kicking and the whole nonsense before the pitcher throws the ball.

Rainbow- The only way Nomar Garciaparra could get a Gold Glove is if he stole it from someone or bought it on ebay. He is the most overated player in the majors in the last ten years. He can't move a foot to either side of him. His throws go all over the place. At the plate, he strands way to many runners and doesn't move men over to help his team. He's a very me-first guy and has the personality of a goat. He's a malingerer and also tried to scam the Red Sox by claiming he got hurt while playing when he actually hurt himself in the off season.

The minute the Red Sox traded his fragile ass and lousy clubhouse presence, they became a much better team. I'm amazed at how this stiff has fooled so many people for so long. The Red Sox had been shopping him around for quite some time. I was thrilled when they found someone dumb enough to take him.

Nomah has never been a Gold Glove winner anywhere. Omar Vizquel won 9 in a row then AROD 2 straight and Derek Jeter last year which covers the AL for the last 12 years.

Many players perform "rituals" when batting, you obviously disklike Nomar for other reasons.

I wish him well.

However, he is really a $hitty player when in clutch situations.

Everytime the guy gets to the plate and needs to get a hit to win the game or pull ahead he chokes.

I don't know why so many people think Theo made a great move. Theo actually offered Nomar a 4 year, $60 million contract.

Since Nomar rejected it, people credit Theo and think he is great. Would we be saying Theo made a bad move had Nomar accepted it?

I am not trying to get on your case Fishhead, I am honestly wondering why people say Theo is so great. Do you think the WS championship last year has really swayed you more than the moves themselves?

Besides Schilling, so many of his GREAT MOVES have come because he failed to do what he set out to do. He went after Contreras, and let him get away to the Yankees (a good thing for the Sox). He went after Pavano and lost him to the Yankees (a god thing for the Sox). He let Pedro become a free agent by not locking him up sooner and paid for a 17 million dollar option year in the process. He signed BK Kim to an oversized contract and had to essentially give him away to the Rockies (the Sox willl pay 5.4 mill of the 6 miil owed to Kim), he traded away a stud young player like Hillenbrand and he basically traded Lowe for Clement.

I think Theo gets TOO much credit because of the WS last year - but all in all he is simply an average GM who makes good moves and as well as bad ones.
