Rob Dibble /ESPN ??????

I was watching BB tonight and I just realized that Dibbs was missing. What happened to him? Was he fired, quit, seek greeener pastures, or did his contract just run out?

he was fired, though dan patrick said on his radio show that dibble was pursuing other stuff....dibbles says bs, they got rid of me.....i think he now has his own show on satelitte radio.......

I've heard him on XM Radio channel 175 which is a 24 hr baseball talk channel.

I just had a long discussion with Dibbs a few weeks ago in Clearwater at the Phillies spring training complex.

He is strictly doing radio now and enjoying it very much.

We had a long discussion on the Atlanta Braves plight of no "real" championships due to the fact they won their only title in a strike shortened season.

We also reminissed about his days back in Ceder Rapids, Iowa in the mid 80's where I also happened to be at the time...........and frequeting the same bars as him. Good stories had by all on this day.

He never mentioned anything to me about it and had no reason to.

I only once asked him if he was still doing TV and he just said "not anymore, just the radio".

Rodney Peete’s 16-year NFL career came to an end Monday when Fox Sports Net hired the quarterback as a regular co-host on “Best Damn Sports Show Period.”

Peete has not formally announced his retirement.
He has been an occasional guest on the show, as has his wife, actress Holly Robinson Peete. Joining the show allows Peete to relocate back to California, where his wife and children have been based while he played in Charlotte for the Panthers.

John Salley, Chris Rose and Rob Dibble are the show’s other co-hosts.

Dibbs is a good guy and many more times than not, I agree with his analysis on the game of baseball.

I like Dibble. The Dan Patrick show has suffered because of Dibble's loss. The only guy that had balls on ESPN's "Baseball Tonight". Said Griffey would be a bust in Cinci when everyone else said he would make them a powerhouse. Took a lot of heat but was proved right.

NO HE DID NOT!

i have too many friends at espn who i contacted in private w/o the others knowing who i called and NONE of them said this fight rumor is true - NONE OF THEM - and i spoke to too many people - all of whom would tell me the truth if i kep their name out of it - for everyone to be hiding something.

Met Dibble at a bowling pro-am. He was hilarious. He kept trying to break the pins by throwing it 100 mph. Was getting pissed that he couldnt make the ball hook. He told me that he got into radio because his dad was a radio man and it was his wish that Rob follow in his footsteps. He said he enjoys the radio gig alot more than tv, but at the time had no choice.

Nice guy. Wish him only the best

RG - i thought you were smart. guess not! for all we have just ripped on Vic the jerk - WHY would you believe ANYTHING he has ever said. he was the one that up until about 1 month ago STILL had the lakers winning it all. if vic says it is april - bet the farm it is any month BUT april. if vic says the earth is round - it is flat. if vic says Team A will kill team B - bet your life savings on team B
