Cincinnati +1.80 over FLORIDA (1:05 PM)
Marlins will send rookie of the year winner in 2003, Dontrelle Willis to the mound to make his fourth start of the year. This year, Willis has pitched like a true Cy Young award candidate and that’s why the Fish are a big 2-1 favorite. He’s 3-0 with a 1.13 ERA, however, he’s faced the Nationals twice and the Phillies once and now he’ll face a much more potent line-up here. The Reds can hit, make no mistake about that and what makes this game so appealing is that the Reds are a perfect 5-0 against southpaws and Willis throws from the left side. Cincinnati will counter with rookie Matt Belisle. Belisle is going to a good one. He’s been prone to giving up the long ball because he relies too heavily on his fastball, however, he’s learning the craft and hopefully he can keep the ball in the yard today. Anyway, the price here will influence our choice and so will the fact that Cinci has yet to lose against a lefty starter. Play: Cincinnati +1.80 (Risking 1.5 units).

ARIZONA +1.25 over San Diego (9:40 PM)

Brandon Webb and the Snakes receiving a take-back at home against Jake Peavy and the Padres is completely insane. Webb is a pure stud that has one of the nastiest sliders you’ll ever see. He’s yet to allow more than two earned runs in any of his three starts and the Diamondbacks have now won five in a row at home. Peavy is the Padres ace and he comes in with a 2-0 record and a 1.31 ERA. However, he’s faced the Pirates, Giants and the Cubs on a day that the wind was blowing in at Wrigley and as a result of facing those three his numbers are amazing. Don’t get us wrong, Peavy is a great pitcher, however, he’ll face a formidable opponent for the first time this year that is sending their ace to the hill too. We’ll take Arizona’s offense over the Padres any day of the week, month or year. Play: Arizona +1.25 (Risking 1.5 units).

Milwaukee +1.20 over SAN FRANCISCO (4:05 PM)

If you can find us one good reason to stop taking back a tag against the Giants please e-mail it in to us. We can almost guarantee that our email box will be empty. The Giants, on a good day will score three runs and allow six. They continue to struggle everywhere and will have to rely on a Brett Tomko today. Tomko is coming off a shellacking at Petco Park in San Diego and if you can’t have success there, chances are pitching isn’t your thing. Tomko has yet to win in three games giving up 23 hits, 14 earned runs and nine walks in just 17.1 innings of work. He’s also struck out just five hitters, which is a strong indication that he’s not fooling anyone. His ERA coming in is 6.75 and if he pitches twice as good as he’s pitched thus far, the Giants are going to need to score about four times to beat us. Does it matter who’s pitching for the Brewers? We think not. Play Milwaukee +1.20 (Risking 1.5 units).
