Just heard this on the Atlanta game and the broadcasters didn't even know it (I didn't either).

If a pitcher has a perfect game going, and an opposing batter hits a foul popup that is dropped and scored an error, but he conitnues to retire every batter is it still considered a perfect game?

I would say yes considering he would have still retired all 27...good question

The pitcher would still have been perfect.:icon_conf

Guessing - but even if an error is commited in foul territory but the pitcher still retires that same batter later in the at bat and retires everyone else in perfect order I would call it a perfect game. 27 up 27 down in a row, and no one reached first.

wil.

You guys are right. It is still considered a perfect game, 27 up 27 down.

Yes, that's perfect,IMO. The ultimate ( will never happen) perfect game would be never throwing a ball. 81 pitches max, strike the opposing batter out or induce a groundball, fly, caught foul pop-up , etc.
