Is anyone else going to the World Series of Poker tournament in New Orleans in May??

I will be there all week. Let me know if anyone else is going to pkay in the $10,000 event or any of the smaller $1,000 tournaments. I would love to meet up with a few posters.

I will be playing in most of the events, I already have my free rooms booked and ready to go!

Not that ill be playing anything down there but i will at least attend on that weds event and then again on the weekend.

could you maybe answer 1 question for me ? im not a "live" player and do not have the slightest idea what the following means...i got it off the tourny schedule at the site u posted above...could you tell me what this means. preferably without pointing out that every 2nd grader in the world knows what this means.....lol

10 Minute Break - Race off $25 Chips

When the blinds go up in a tourney they high card or race for the odd smaller denomination chips. If you have 75 in chips that can't be converted into the next highest denomination so one player at the table picks up a few more dollars if he wins the race.

when u start the tournament you start with blinds of 25-25 or 25-50 so u need those $25 chips.....usually after the breaks tourneys go to blinds 100-200 and you dont need the $25 chips anymore.....so racing off means taking them out of the tournament....for example if u have $275 in $25 chips.....you would get 2 $100 chips and....the other 75 will be highcarded between all the people at the table with the highest cards getting whatever chips is available.....lets say the whole table hsa one $25 chip left over....that would make for $250 in chips, they round it off and would give away 3 $100 chips.....they high card everyone and three highest cards win (you can only win one chip)....if you had 2 $25 chips left over you would get 2 cards....

They explained it pretty well. Also the same raceoff occurs later with $100, 500 and 1000 chips.

I cant play in the Wednesday event as I am driving in to stay Wednesday night. But I am as good as gold for the Thursday and Friday
