COLORADO +1.04 over Los Angeles (3:05 PM) (Action)<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>

This line is based on Brad Penny going for the Dodgers, however, manager Jim Tracy says that if the weather is cold (it’s 34F in Colorado) that he’ll skip Penny in favor of rookie D.J. Houlton. Houlton has given up just one earned run in five relief appearances but don’t be fooled by that. He’s surrendered 11 hits in six innings and this venue has been known to be rather unkind to pitchers that have never pitched here. Houlton is average at best. Jeff Francis was an extremely highly touted youngster and he’s showing signs why. The kid can flat out bring it and in his last home game he silenced the Diamondbacks with a remarkable 7.2 inning performance of four-hit ball. Jump on this one early as Penny is listed but there’s a 95% chance he won’t go today, the rookie will. Play Colorado +1.04 (Risking 1.5 units).

Cleveland +1.23 over SEATTLE (4:05 PM)<o:p></o:p>

Indians starting to heat up offensively while the Mariners are struggling mightily at the plate and that sets this pooch up very nicely. 42-year-old Jamie Moyer will toss for the Mariners and while he’s off to a great start, we’ll gladly take our chances against this old arm that went 7-13 last year with a 5.21 ERA. Seattle has dropped three in a row and six of nine and has scored a total of three runs in its past three games. Scott Elarton is running out of time and needs to come up with a solid performance. In three starts, he’s pitched effectively in one while getting his ass handed to him in the other two. A little dose of the Mariners is just what the doctor ordered for Elarton and this choice is not really about him anyway. This is about taking back a tag against a Mariner team that’s seeing BB’s at the plate and playing on a Indian team that has easily won games one and two of this series. Play: Cleveland +1.23 (Risking 1.5 units).
