From what i remember, its usually once the game starts, and they "know" that the different pitcher has started...

in case anyone is interested in knowing, its the 7th inning but my wager with FOGG as listed is still not refunded, so it appears one must wait for the game to be over before the STAKE is refunded.

The problem a lot of books have is the software requires a score to grade all bets on a game even when there is a pitching change. The software will pick-up any pre pitching change LP bets when the score is entered and graded. A rain-out would be different because ALL bets are cancelled.

From what I understand most sportsbooks have the type of software whereas bets are made into a game for either or both listed pitchers, or action. If one or two of the pitchers are replaced the game continues to get bet into using the replacement pitcher(s). When the game concludes the game is graded clicking on which pitchers actually started the game. Then the listed cancelled bets fall out as a push, the action wagers and new listed pitcher(s) bets are graded as well. In essence, the sportsbooks never usually put up a new game to bet into because it would disrupt wagers made on "action". Believe it , or not, there are bettors who wager on action

Most books refund the wager upon completion of the game. Some however do it in real time.

Depends on the software.

Well is true depends on the software but if it is a good software it is supposed that as soon as you change the pitcher, it will run the stored procedures to return the money back to the accounts for listed pitchers, but sometimes this doesnt happen.

The software is supposed to do this cause maybe the gambler doesnt have more money in the account and then want to made a new wager, but well in some places this doesnt happen

My Detroit bet was cancelled and refunded yesterday before game time when it went OTB, but a postponed game is a little different I guess.
