Anybody see it? Didn't see it but it seems like it may have been a good one. Lots of bad blood between these two over the years.

Yahoo write-up noted several ejections. Was hoping Ortiz wrapped that bat around Carter's head for old times sake.

Does anyone think that the league may look at Sox closer now for future brawls?

I was at the game. Arroyo plunked a guy in the 6th after Sox batters were getting thrown at all weekend. No big deal. Then the Tampa pitcher throws behind Manny, but misses him. Should have been the end of it, sort of evened the score. Manny crushes the next pitch for a big HR, so Carter is more incensed and he goes after Ortiz. He threw high and hard right at his head. I don't blame Ortiz for going after him.

The next inning Arroyo surprisingly starts the inning, but with 2 guys warmed up in the pen it was clear he was going to retaliate. He did.

Ortiz came up in the 8th and hit his second moonshot in as many days. HAS to be one of the longest hit at the Trop.

you are lucky. i have been to games and seen no hitters, even saw eddie murray hit his 500th home run.

would trade it all to be at a game with a brawl...

The Red Sox are becoming notorious for being in brawls with other teams. They seem to always be throwing at the opposing players and can't seem to just play baseball. :icon_conf

Sarcasm alert:

I remember when the Red Sox-Yanks rivalry was heated with bench-clearing brawls and controversy, my how times have changed. Now it's the BoSox trying to squeak a victory out of St. Pete's.

What a series!

Possibly the greatest 3-game set in RAYS history!

its about time someone finally started throwing at the red sox. They are always hitting yankees and the yankees never retaliate. Not to mention the way ortiz and manny ham it up after they hit homers.

When the Yankees finally do, it will be unwarranted as usual.
