Arizona +1.50 over LOS ANGELES (10:10 PM)<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
The Diamondbacks are coming off of a sweep over the Padres while the Dodgers had a grueling three game set in Colorado. That fact alone makes this pup worthy of some attention here. Javier Vasquez is coming off a solid start after three rough starts to open the year. He was penciled in to be the Diamondbacks opening day starter, however, he came up a little lame and was moved back. He now says that he’s never felt better. Javier Vasquez can pitch folks, make no mistake about that. Derek Lowe is looking pretty good in Dodger blue. His ERA in four starts is a miniscule 1.27. However, Lowe is just not good enough to keep fooling hitters. He’s already faced the Snakes once and they were actually quite successful against him. Lowe has one great pitch, his slider, while his other pitches are ordinary at best. We get a very sweet price on the Diamondbacks here and are not about to pass it up. Play Arizona +1.50 (Risking 1.5 units).

San Diego +1.05 over SAN FRANCISCO

When Jason Schmidt isn’t on the hill for the Giants, their chances of losing are greater than winning and that’s exactly what we have here. The Giants pitchers are getting very little run support and as a result they’re trying to be too fine, afraid of giving up even a run or two. Noah Lowry has looked like a fraction of the pitcher he was last year. He’s falling behind in the count and in 17.2 innings or work covering three starts, Lowry has walked 10 and struck out 11. He’s also surrendered three jacks. Woody Williams is a crafty vet that can still pitch. He was rocked in Colorado in his first start of the year and has gotten progressively better since. In his last start against the Dodgers, Williams went seven solid frames and didn’t allow a single run. That works for us. Play San Diego +1.05 (Risking 1.5 units).

Chicago +1.17 over OAKLAND
Barry Zito has just flat out lost it and while he may regain it at some point, any take-back here on the sizzling White Sox has to be considered good value. Zito is 0-3 in his first four outings this season while posting a 6.94 ERA -- the fourth-highest among AL starters. The South Side has the major’s best record at 15-4 and they’ve also won seven in a row. Everything is going right for Chicago, they’re 9-1 in one run games and they committed four errors yesterday and still won. Playing on hot teams taking back a tag is never a bad idea and we absolutely make no exceptions in this one. Play: Chicago +1.17 (Risking 1.5 units).

Feels like it's been two years since I went 3-0, hopefully, that will turn things around.
