Street Facts from Las Vegas. . .

In addition to discounts and deals, IVLV has added this

and happenings around Las Vegas.

* It is now official. MGM Mirage Resorts acquisition of
the Mandalay Resort Group has been completed. At noon
today the 36,000 employees became part of the MGM
Mirage Resorts. It is estimated that less than 100 of
the upper management are losing their jobs, many by
resignation.

* Danny Gans has made it official he will continue
performing at The Mirage with a contract extension
that takes him in April 2008.

* On April 30, from 1-4p, at the Caf, Baba Reeba will
be the location for the largest Spanish wine tasting in
Las Vegas history.

* The MGM Grand Garden will be the location of the
upcoming Paul McCartney concert held November
25-26, 2005. Tickets are priced from $100-$250.

* Summertime is near and that means the Nine Group
at the Palms will be starting their pool parties again.
Scheduled for the May 24 Tuesday night pool party is
Snoop Dogg, tickets are $52. First party gets the
summer started on April 30.

* On May 16, at noon PST, more free tickets will be
offered for the Las Vegas Centennial celebration
which includes a Red Hot Chilli Pepper Concert.
You can pick up your tickets on May 16 at Ticketmaster.
The first 50,000 free tickets took 15 minutes to be absorbed.

* Master magician and illusionist David Copperfield
returns to MGM Grands Hollywood Theatre with his
latest stage production show, An Intimate Evening Of
Grand Illusion, performing May 19 through June 1;
June 30 through July 13; July 28 through August 10;
and August 25 through September 21, show times are
7:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. nightly, with additional matinee
shows at 4:30 p.m. every Saturday and some Sundays.
Tickets are priced at $97 inclusive.

* Cannery Casino jump-starts the season with the
Summer of Fun Festival featuring oldies pop bands,
The Turtles, The Vogues, Ron Dante of The Archies,
Andy Kim, and Bo Donaldson and The Heywoods on
Saturday, May 28. Complimentary admission tickets
are available at the Cannery Casino ticket sales
counter located at the front desk check-in.

* Three Dog Night, the popular 70's rock band, brings
"old-fashioned love songs" and a few other well-known
tunes to The Hideaway Theater inside the Silverton
Casino on Friday, May 6-7 at 8 p.m. Tickets for Three
Dog Night are $40.

* Sean Paul will perform at the Whiskey Beach at
Green Valley Ranch on May 7 at pm. Tickets are on
sale and cost $49.50 plus tax.

* Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the
water, Tropicana Casino's Swim-Up Blackjack will
open on May 27. Daily from 11a to 6p players can
relax in the pool and play blackjack at the same time,
bets range from $5-$25.

* Within the month, the old San Remo Casino will start
its transformation into the first Hooters Hotel / Casino.
A grand opening date has not been set, more on this
in future months.

Does anybody really like Danny Gans???

I saw his show and was amazed the praise this guy gets. He's like a bad Rich Little.

There's no accounting for taste...you are the first person I've ever heard say they didn't like Danny Gans. May I ask whom you did like?

Honestly, that's the only show I've seen out there.


But what was so great about his act? All he did was impersonations which was big in the seventies. Nobody on TV does that anymore for a reason.
