Tiberius sits on the throne after being crowned the winner of the 26th annual Drake Most Beautiful Bulldog Contest, Monday, April 25, 2005, in Des Moines, Iowa. Tiberius is owned by Karen and Phil Swift of Ankeny, Iowa. The pageant kicks off the Drake Relays festivities at Drake University where a bulldog is the mascot.

The DRAKE Relays are infamous in the world of Track and Field.

Been there many times, once as a coach.

you are right. i started the south beach diet about 2 weeks ago, and im down to 438 lbs to be exact.

THE STATE FAIR

Nearly one million visitors flock to the Iowa State Fair each year to see the 600-pound butter cow, ride the Midway’s double-ferris wheel and sample everything from funnel cakes to corn dogs. They leave the 11-day extravaganza with bellyaches, blurry eyes and memories that will last a lifetime.



Many Fair-goers are now looking for ways to give something back by supporting Fairground renovation efforts. The Iowa State Fair Blue Ribbon Foundation was established by the Fair Board in 1993 to conduct a major capital campaign for the renovation and preservation of the Iowa State Fairgrounds, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Full scale renovations are now in progress to preserve this facility, with more than $48 million already raised through individual contributions, state appropriations, in-kind services, and corporate, federal and state grants. The Iowa State Fair has been a proud Iowa tradition for almost as long as Iowa has been a state. It has progressed with Iowa throughout history and remains a vital link between Iowa’s work ethic, achievement and talent. It is a basic component of Iowa’s infrastructure and an invaluable asset to the Iowa community. And now, you have the opportunity to help prepare our Iowa State Fair for the 21st Century!
