I'm thinking about buying one. Does anyone have experiences with this model ?

The old (2000) accord has about 210,000 miles now. It's served well, but it lacks room.

The element (Uglyment) is cheap enough, has room, and it's a Honda ! I don't need a fast car, just a reliable one.

Anybody have one ?

Ugliest piece of machinery EVER built

I don't care what it looks like. Functionality is paramount ! I rarely drive anywhere, I can bet from bed now that I have laptop ( er... notebook computer).

The vehichle is for wifey to drive around aimlessly. It combines enough truck-like capability, passenger space, good name brand, and lower -price in a package. I have a neighbor with a newish PT Cruiser that's a real lemon.

You can buy this thing for like 20k new. A new anything will satisfy wife, forget wisdom of buying slightly used with her. If it goes 200k miles, that's OK with me.

I agree it's ugly, but I think I'll reserve the ultimate honor for VW Thing.

It may be just right, for my needs ! I think differently, I'd buy an older Corvette for 20k, but it's not about me ! I barely need a car anrmore.

It only seat 4 people, that is a downside for a supposed SUV. Also has a few blind spots. Not really made for anyone under 5' 6" either, especially with the blind spots. So if it is for a girlfriend/wife or something, probably better to go with the Cr-V, Would choose that over the Element anyways. Depending on the frills, the price isn't that great a differential.

If you have an Accord now, you might just as well get a loaded Civic EX. They are around 20K with all the frills, so not much of a downgrade from and aged Accord.

All depends on what you want I guess. But Elements have more than a few downsides from what I have seen and heard. From Honda dealers as well.

I would go with the loaded Civic Ex or a basic Cr-V, especially if it is your wife/girlfriend driving it around most of the time. Especially if your budget is at or around 20K.
