make them play a playoff game with NO FANS in the stands
you know how much $$$$$$$$$$$ that would cost them as well as how many fans would be pissed off at this loser - whose life would end soon after this announcement was made
if they don't want to play with an empty stands THIS time - simply let the fans know the NEXT time it happens the pistons will be made to play TWO playoff games with 100% EMPTY stands. promise those fans go from being what we expect from pistons' fans to the best ones in the league.
