Fellas, I think I've finally reached a point in my wagering "career" where bad losses/bad beats don't eat away at me anymore. Not sure if it's because I'm getting older and more content in life, or if I've just improved as a capper where a bad loss here and there doesn't hurt as bad in the wallet as it did a couple years ago.

Last night, I had Houston, they were up by 10 early in the 4th quarter, until Dallas goes on a 20-0 run!!!! A couple years ago I'd of had a hard time sleeping. Last night after the game, I popped a couple sominex, turned on coast to coast a.m. on the radio, and I was out like a baby.

How do you guys react to bad losses?? Are you dealing with it better because of age, success, or another reason???

I usually don't watch if I have big money on it.

I still don't handle them well when they happen.:smoker2:

Two years ago it seemed I lost every freakin one of these games, I mean everyone!

Last season they evened up for me.

Last night I had Miami and Over...I still felt slightly cheated getting a push after Carter's bank shot...Had Houston late and that wasn't easy to watch that game wither away so quickly, it helps when you're winning overall...

It also helps when you go 1-9 "just posting games you didn't bet on" ....then turning around and doubling your deposit the first day back, playing for real.

If your thinking about losses after they occur for LONGER than 30 miniutes..................

.............your wagering to much on these games.

Take this as sound advice from yours trully and adjust accordingly if this is the case.

Funny how it works out that way. Of course, you may not pull the trigger on a few of those "paper bets" in that situation.

very good advice. It's only natural to need " a few minutes" to cool off after a bad loss, but it sure doesn't help the longer it lingers. I'm "getting to grips, and getting over it" alot better than i used to

I was waiting to hop back in the action...I had quit for a while after starting the NCAA Tourney slow...then I was hitting everything under the sun "on paper" the remainder of the NCAA Tournament...all 'on paper'....

I figured after going 1-9 in the NBA Playoffs 'on paper' it was safe to hop back in for real...and to be completely honest I was lucky as hell yesterday... not many people will admit when they flat out suck on the forum....it happens

I just think about all the bets I've won where somebody on the other side probably felt that it was a bad beat for them. It seems to even out over time.

Sleep like a baby, although I do like to piss and moan a bit, even if it's to myself

this is a superior topic for risk takers, gamblers, grinders,

knowing your tilt or frustration amount $$$ is important to realize. at what amount does something really influence you or emotions or behavior. then stay 33% below that amount if you are in a sensitive mood once you start doing that you will see that threshold will increase over time. brain chemistry control I think it is.
