Nice back-up IMO, but I wonder if age and speed hasn't caught up. You will not win a title with Doug at the helm, unless it is a conference & SB games back to back. I could see that.

Flutie can still get it done on a backup basis. Everyone stepped up their game in SD when he was playing. Not the most talented guy, but then again neither is Brady.

Gawd, I am sick of Flutie. Every CFL fan up here thinks he's just the greatest thing ever. The guy's not even Canadian! So, yay, another year of listening to people yap about how he just never got the chance he needed and that's what's wrong with the NFL and blah blah blah.

RETIRE ALREADY!

Doug & his Brother Darren were offered a nice deal to come play up here for the Hamilton Tiger Cats....

I guess he still has a superbowl dream.....

He certainly doesn't need money, his last deal which finally ran out set him well for life. When you have money, why would you go back to playing in the CFL?

Flutie's inspirational...period.

If he gets the chance with New England he certainly won't embarrass himself...Canada needs hero's don't they?

They don't support baseball, Hockey is no more...the Canadian Football League is joke...

i dont think ud understand unless u had lived here, he would have been the starter, would have been playing with his brother coming out of retirment, would have been quite the story if he could have led the Tiger Cats to the grey cup.....

In the NFL all he will do is sit on the bench..... ur point about money even further supports this.

the league has been very strong the last couple of years, it will never have the WWF style flash the NFL has.....

The NFL is the BEACH & the CFL is simply a grain of sand....

BUT THE LEAGUE IS FAR FROM A JOKE.....

not sure who they are if you mean Monteal or Blue Jays.As the Blue Jays where leaders in the the majors in attendance for years...going from World Series Champions to owners who cut payroll hence unable to compete..New owners and spending more money ..so fans are hoping for a competive team this year/Hockey will return.IIhf tournament starts tomorrow..so we also have hockey....///CFL is in best shape in many years

Yeah what happened to once proud Toronto? 40K+ a game down to 15k a game...what has happened to the city of Toranto period?

Cut payroll? they lost the GM that was the main reason...Gillick built that mini dynasty

IMO, Flutie could step in and win a few games on guile alone. Could he play a whole season and win a Super Bowl? No.

Could he come in off the bench like a pinch hitter and win a few games? Absolutely.

Especially with New England crowd on his side.
