Last night I took 2nd in a local NL poker tourney ( first time I got other then 3rd place once) anyway after I bought in at the NL 1-2 blinds live cash game...lost 40$ in a matter of minutes...VERY hard to switch gears from tourney to Live IMHO

anyone ever experience this? Swami?? Blackbart?? tekari??

Some may disagree but to me its 2 totally different games. In tourny play the present hand means almost nothing while in cash games its ALL that matters. You said you were down 40 in a few minutes, in a tourney you may go down 3/4 of your chips before turning it around , not that big a deal......you go down 3/4 of your chips in a cash game your usually finished....at least mentally if nothing else.

good point Propoker....I guess I meant that right after a toruney you play Live is a little hard to shift the gears IMO...but great point

Definitely 2 different games. Just like NL is different than fixed limit. Few players can master them all.

huge difference.....tried to play more live multiple times but could never get on a good stretch.....i'll win one day and then lose the other....i hate cash games.....tourneys its a totally different thing, different strategy, more solid players who won't call extra bets in the BB just because they are in the pot already lol

i guess depending on which game suits you, but i'll never be a winner at cash games....tourney is a different thing.
