was baseball on tv more exciting

when you only had a saturday nbc game of the week to watch? the days of curt gowdy and tony kubak. when the only other games on tv were playoffs and series plus local teams. it seems like we really looked forward to saturday morning.

Very true, and Monday Night Baseball as well...its like anything else that's been oversaturated....remember the very first year when ESPN bought the MLB package they had planned on showing baseball almost every night, but it backfired...too much of anything isn't good.

Remember when the MNF halftime highlights were the greatest 3 minutes of television for any real sports fan?

Same with Mel Allen's 'This Week in Baseball'..

What would we do without cable TV though? :suomi:
