It's surprising HI. doesn't have any legalized gambling yet. From what I hear there's a sizeable amount of Asian residents over there that love to gamble. I guess the bookies and online casinos have to love that.

California Hotel in Vegas relies heavily on Hawaiian gamblers.

Cant see a state that considers caffiene a sin to allow gambling. Mesquite only minutes from Utah border anyway.

the only way they get casino gambling is if they have one or two casinos hidden away somewhere. due to the economy being down at times they have had a strong push to legalize but the anti groups are much stronger right now like gov lingle as well as the old hawaiian groups (nation of hawaii etc) are adament about no gambling at this time. they go back and show laws that were written when king kamehameha still ruled that they interperet as gambling being evil and they still follow many of these laws. i guess if you get the right people in power and the right people greased anything can change so who knows.

Sports gambling is HUGE here. Everyone knows someone who runs a house -- the ridiculous thing is, even with the internet now, the houses here still charge "6/5", 20% juice. The houses can make a killing with that, which is why there is so many. This makes it practically impossible to make a profit. As soon as internet betting places started popping up, I never played the "6/5" again, and can't believe people here are stupid enough to play with them. Is this 20% vig thing just in Hawaii, or have you guys seen it in other places?
