That was a good movie. All I could think of was if he had a decent car or bike he would have just left that truck in the last state. But then they could not have made movie.

Just goes to show you. Don't piss off truck drivers. You never know when one is going to snap.

would that be the same kind of stupidity that seems to be shown in all the "slasher" movies

hmmmm - there is a maniacal killer running loose thru some area. what shall we do? i know - let's spend the weekend there because nothing will happen. we will round up about 12 stupid teenagers - including 6 girls who are stunningly gorgeous with bodies to die for. during the day we will keep them inside their cabin - but at night - when the killer is loose - we will send them outside and have a large fire - thereby drawing the attention of said killer even more. we will then have all of the kids - but 2 go inside - leaving 2 outside by the fire. the killer will shockingly come along and kill these 2. they will scream a lot when they die - and others will come running out too late to save them. these other 10 will decide it is still a great place to stay - and will. later on - we will have the nubile teen with the best body stand in front of a window while taking off her clothes only to have said killer "shockingly" come thru the window and brutally kill her while her b/f is upstairs in the shower. said killer will either then go kill dunce boy - or leave him alone to also scream and let other know another person has been killed - but still - these mental midgets decide to stay because...well, who knows why, they are teens and teens do stupid things. when all is said and done - of the original 12 that went to this area - only about 2-3 will leave alive. the cops will NEVER be called to investigate things because, well...these teenagres never dreamed of doing it. the movie will end with these 3 driving away in horror over the fact almost 10 of their friends were killed - but also talking about coming back to the same area next week with more friends because, well, they are teens and why not.

the WORST part of all this - is this movie will gross about $30M the first weekend and about $100M total and then have 8 sequels made - each worse than the one before it showing that as dumb as these teenagres are - they are smarter than the idiots who plunked down $10 to see this dumb movie!

I remember it. Pretty scary stuff.

The guy wanted his briefcase back or something.

I think what made it so good at the time was the guy who plays the dude being chased. The look of disparity and panic in his face is very genuine and made the viewer just as scared as he looked like.

whatever he was Rox...he was scary and that truck was the nastiest truck I think I have ever seen on the road....dirty and smokey but when it crashed off the edge it did not blow up even though it was flammable :icon_conf weird stuff

You spend most of the time wondering when the guy will get killed or does he make it or whats going to happen. The suspense and thrill is really good the first time you see it, especially back then.

interesting movie, you never saw the truck driver's face, and when the truck

fell off the cliff, it sounded like a dinosaur.

Great movie that I think of often on my travels on the highways.

Must have seen that movie no less than four different times, probably more.

Dennis Weaver is one of my favorite actors and he was very good in this movie.

I'm not sure why, but not too long ago I found myself watching this movie on late night TV as well. I would turn to another channel and then find myself going back to find...that's right; a perspiring Dennis Weaver swerving this way and that in a crumby car trying to avoid a nasty looking ol' semi that just doesn't seem to ever leave his rear-view mirror. I finally gave up and watched most of the film. Two things I gathered from the film: 1.) the older couple that didn't help Dennis Weaver pissed me off such that I wish the semi driver would have decided to antagonize them instead and 2.) I never pass semi's (or smallish box trucks) anymore and when a semi tries to pass me, I pull completely over onto the shoulder, smile and wave as nicely as possible. You know? They still get pissed at me for some reason. tulsa

Just passing a semi will some times piss off truck driver. I guess driving for hours will make some people snap.

Years ago I read an article in the news paper about a motorcycle driver that passed a semi at night. No one on the road. But evidently the truck driver just didn't like it. The guy on the bike didn't think any thing was wrong until he got hit hard by the semi from behind. The bike got wedged halfway under the semi's bumper, which ripped his right leg clean off. Believe it or not, the guy managed to free himself from the bike/truck and drop onto the ground. If you can call him lucky, he rolled under the truck, at highway speeds, with out serious injury.

Fearing that the semi would come back for him, he crawled off the side of the road into the grass. Tied off his leg and waited until dawn. Then he crawled back out until some one stopped to help him.

The police found the semi with the bike still stuck in his grill at a rest stop. The truck driver claimed he never saw the bike and didn't know he had hit any one.

It's a messed up world we live in.

I meant he didn't get badly hurt from dropping on the pavement at 70 mph and rolling under an 18 wheeler.
