I know everyone ( including Slim and The Pope) has been talking about this and the general opinion is that it is ridiculous to suggst the NBA is fixing the outcome of games and Series.

I do not believe the NBA is fixing the outcome of each Series. What I do think they fix is the number of games in each Series and the amount of controversy during the games and Series. This all an effort to increase TV exposure and revenue both from TV and from attendance at each facility.

Keep this in mind when wagering on games.

I will now put on my Full Body Armor, as I expect several bombs to be coming my way. Go ahead and take your shots.

Nah, these games just play out this way in an almost predictable fashion. the games are close when a powerful team goes on the road, but the weaker teams ultimately, and almost without exception, succumb to the stronger teams..<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>

I am not sure it matters much who wins, but the ATS results are manipulated. I cannot prove it, but I believe it whole-heartedly.

im shocked you would say this.......so al the NBA executives, the refs and all th players are in on fixing the games so they fall within a certain number? cmon!

i think you are saying the games are not fixed but the ATS results are? cant have it both ways....

the totals finsih so closely to the actual number. I've had 5 totals so far in the playoffs won/lost by a half-point. One of them seemed really good until they went to overtime to cover the under by a half point.

Word of advice: don't play playoff totals.... so much room to get screwed.

I think it takes a handful of officials only and I do not think they care about who wins and loses. It is all about ATS results IMO. Who is actually behind the cover-ups, I have no idea, but it doesn't take many people to be involved.

I stand by this. A whistle here and a whistle there can change a game very quick and an official has alot of power in determining fouls & momentum.

Look no further than Joey Crawford to start.

You're just figuring this out? I haven't bet on an NBA game in about 3.5 years. And will only bet the series when the odds are so outof whack I can't help myslef. Which isn't too hard to find these days. Most books can't seem to balance a checkbook let alone correlate series odds.

If what you say is true then I sure as hell want to bet the total!

i don't know if it was sarcasm or not, but why would my rant want you to bet the total even more now? Just to spite me? I don't care what you do but I was just giving my two cents.

Wild,

I think he does a lot of middles which means he stands to gain a tremendous amount if the total lands on the number.

I agree he has annoying way of expressing himself, though. Kind of like a mosquito ... bzzz, bzzz, bzzz,(whiff) <WHIFF>, bzzz, bzzz, (swat) <SWAT>there! gotcha!

sure, i could see a couple of refs getting together to try and hit A GAME here and there but not much more than that.....think about it.....let's just say the Clippers are playing the Nuggets....Nuggets are favored by 8 so the refs have put the fix on that they will be sure to keep the Clippers close so they can cover their bet....problem is, they cant make it obvious and when the Nuggets blow them out 121-82, now what?

funny how david stern has turned a relatively ignored statement by van gundy and made it into a fiasco. if he had just fined van gundy 20 thousand no one would be talking about this crap. Now everyone is talking about how the NBA is fixed.

When will they fire stern?
