Headed to Costa Rica!!!

Hey everyone, I'm headed to beautiful Costa Rica. Was wondering if I could get some tips from the locals.

1. I guess I need to rent a 4x4. Is it cheaper if i do it over the internet, or is it easy to find better deals once I get there?

2. Also, is scuba diving worth doing in CR?

3. Apart from Monteverde and Arenal, what other locations should i be going to???

4. Any special things I need to take with me???
