It is illegal. Try it and you're looking for trouble. It will also leave a footprint, so There are other ways to acheive the same thing.

I suggest your friend install software on THAT person's computer himself instead of going with spyware. He might need to say he needs to send email from that computer and install it.

There are programs that will put EVERYTHING that a person types into a file. That will make sure you know any URL that is typed, any email that is written, and any instant messaging that is done - except you won't know what the replies for the emails, instant messanging etc. were.

Then your friend can go back, say he needs to check his email again and retrieve that file.

Depends on what exactly you want to do, and the access to the computer, cause u can get a lot of softwares that can do that, but u need to be an administrator on that computer so u can install them. Going to check for the name I got a few, and then ill tell u one.

Yes is creepy but sometimes are usefull

I looked at those links you posted ... at what time does the usefullness override the glaring lack of ethics in all of this? You can send someone an attachment and now have access to all of their passwords? That is seriously fücked up.

Not really.

If you work for me, and you are using my computer, on my network and getting paid by me - then I have a right to know what you are typing and what webpages you are accessing.

If I am getting paid per hour to work on a certain project and I am spending 3 hours a day reading The RX forum, then my employer has a right to know.

Sure, but it's still creepy. What if someone does their banking on their lunchour? This shouldn't be problematic, but it's certainly a gross invasion of privacy as soon as their employer has all of their banking info, passwords included. Wouldn't you agree?

Further, that it's not limited to employer spying is what is the big problem here. ANYONE can spy on your computer if you just download their attachment.

It's like imagining that your office or living rooom are bugged 24/7. It's big brother, only you don't even know about.

I've had it in my hands, but I never used it on anyone.

I played with it. It is pretty slick it hides itself pretty well by morphing the file name on occasion. It zips everything to you email, you dont even have to go to their PC. It takes screen shots and the works.

But I believe you need to go to their PC to put it on there, like I said I never did anything with it I was just curious to see if someone could do it to me.

This was like 4 years ago, I am sure they even better now then they were then.

I hear you, X.

I can tolerate an employer doing it, but how about the creeps who do it to scam you or use your computer remotely as a psuedo server?

The guy in NYC (Spietzer) finally brought charges against one such company, but why aren't the rest of the states (or even the federal government) doing anything about it?

Go figure.

I would guess gov'ts can't mandate against it because they probably use it themselves.

Well, none of those packages above were Mac compatible, at least.

One more reason to stay with Apple.
