jman- Just my opinion here, but there does not seem to be much traffic in the tracker room. It would seem that people prefer going into the sports rooms where there are insights being shared. Tracker room kind of reminds me when you call a tout and he say "take the Rams, goodbye". People would like more information as to why you like the Rams. That being said, I was very close to starting a baseball thread in there the other night, but decided against it. I do plan to start dropping some plays in the baseball room soon though.

Good points! But after a few weeks or a couple months it shouldn't matter...The reason its like that (no chatter) well many reasons but its much easier to track/monitor, and thats the point of it...its hard to wade thru the posts and keep records for someone who is tracking it otherwise.

I'm sure by football season we could see it triple .

Because people are afraid to have legit records.

It's also hard because I don't enter every single bet I make, so I could be up or down more than the tracking says.

I've always said I'm here to get information and when or if I have a strong feeling or pick I will post it. Also I only dabble in wagers this time of year and would not want or advise anyone to follow my picks.

I did participate in Pops69 best bets last year that's as close as I'm probably going to get to a verified record.

Jman:

Although I have not been posting many selections of late, I will share my thoughts with you regarding the Tracking Forum and it's use and lack of traffic. I believe a lot of it has to do with our members being conditioned to look at the Sports Forums for selections. As new members continue to join, in time the amount of traffic should change a bit. The Sports Forums provide for the interaction between posters which, for many, is enjoyable. While it is true that the Tracking Forum is clean with posted plays and records too date, there are many posters that would rather not have their records tracked and/or shown in standings for comparison. And for others, they simply don't wish to post the same plays in two forums, regardless of how simple it appears to be. As you know, I had always provided an accurate daily record each and every time I posted a selection in the Sports Forum and may do that again in the future but have ceased recently and actually received comments in my last thread in the Sports Forum indicating some forum members are very comfortable that I no longer track myself on a daily basis and encouraged me not to. Remember, the Tracking Forum as presented is available to those that want to use it and wish to be tracked. For others, the Sports Forums make their experience at the RX more comfortable. Just a matter of taste. I still remember a very poignant question raised a few months ago in the Offshore Forum by one of our members asking "Why Do Handicappers Feel The Need To Post Plays?". Very thought provoking in my opinion.

I agree with that one - a lot of posters here seem to like the attention they get when they are 'hot' so they post in the sports forum but then disappear when they are cold.

It also can be a little misleading since there are limits to the bet sizes and no props or halftime plays are allowed, but in reality I think that is helpful to be like that to limit things. Otherwise you could just copy and paste your whole account history from a book you are winning with.

Not all disappear when they are cold. Many fight through. I believe though, that people like the interaction between each other and the feeling that people are able to give props when positives occur. Why else would anyone share picks if the person doesn't have an interest in the interactions to begin with? tulsa

Ill tell you why i dont post my plays there, time....

i prefer to post my plays in the appropriate room.. I keep a very detailed record, most here should vouch for that..

I dont have the time or desire to post my selections in 2 rooms.. simple as that.

My records are kept daily and posted in this fashion.

One Unit: 44-41 (+ 4.63 units)
Two Unit: 21-11 (+22.78 units)
Four Unit: 2-1 (+2.40 units)
overall: 67-53 (+29.81 units)

this was my mlb record to date btw... dont want to copy all that,,,, very early in the morning in 2 rooms..

Not disagreeing with your style, I think the tracking could be used as an addition, so you might post in whatever sport - I like these 3 teams today, blah, blah and whatever you want to add and then just reference the tracker as in I am 20-10 YTD as listed in the tracker. Not that people aren't accurate updating in other threads, but it is hard to verify if you have to search for a bunch of different threads on different days, where the tracker keeps it all in one thread without all the discussions and comments.

i think its beneficial to new people.but for the long time posters you know who to follow, who to avoid, your seasoned, therefore you dont need it.you want to be able to ask people why they made the pick, joke with them, etc.or if someone asks a question you can interact etc.the posters here seem to stand close together and i dont see much bashing in the forums anymore and thats only going to make them stronger.

as far as i know you cant get away with misleading results. im hoping no one gets away with a padded win/loss record. but im in there to get glakens update, and too many baseball guys to mention and i was checking the nba out but guys started to hit rough times so i bailed. but i cant be the only 1 using the tracking forum as a tool everyday. others needs to speak up.~RG
