The New York Yankees tumbled to their lowest point in a decade Wednesday night, losing their second straight to the last-place Tampa Bay Devil Rays - this time 11-8 with owner George Steinbrenner watching part of the game from his suite at Tropicana Field. The Yanks are six games under .500 for the first time since after games of July 19, 1995, when they were 34-40.

Bob Costas showing his age when he said this 2005 NYY team reminds him of the 1965 NYY's who were perceived as a dynasty and got old overnight and finished in 6th place.

Who has the balls to bet into it? Yanks will still be there at the end!

I'm considering it. There has to be value there AND if I lose the wagers at least my Yanks will be in the playoffs. After this start I would happily lose $$ to get them to turn around this season.

I don't believe this team will be in the playoffs. If this team didn't have NY on their caps nobody would be taking this team seriously at all. And it doesn't look like they will get any help at the trading deadline. They have nothing to offer and no prospects. I loved that Prop Pinny had at not making the playoffs at +153. Are you freaking kidding me. The Yankees are Dead, The Yankees are dead

I never thought Id say this btu the Yanks are completely out of it as it stands.

They MUST acquire two very good pitchers, and I mean very good to get back into it, say Roger Clemens and someone else....and even then Randy has to hold up...

I am very saddened to see the yankees down on their luck. maybe we can take up a collection here and mail it to them to help them get some better players?

The Yankees were suspect last year by many in the know. Their pitching is horrible. In what areas are they going to turn it around? Oldest team in the league has gotten old over night.

If they should cut that humongous salary maybe then they will work a bit harder.
