Baseball may be the least exciting of the major sports to wager on but, it's the easiest to beat with less Vig :103631605

I had a good April too Dante, its the freaking NBA that was holding me down...baseball is the easiest to beat by far....

the NBA is NUTS! last night two more examples, both games had incredible point surges in the final 3 minutes, Spurs game still almost went over the total, and Wash went flying over the total 2nd half with about 40 points scored the final 4:30!

baseball is somewhat boring to bet on and watch, but its the easiest to win at.

Baseball has never been bored for me, I love watching it. I can remember when I was a kid, I believe it was 1967 when Stlouis won the World Series and I brought my transister radio to school to listen to it, back then all the games were day games. Baseball is real easy to beat, and I love it to boot.

In response to the question of why so many quit gambling this time of year, I really don't know anyone who quits this time of year. Everyone that I know gets excited about baseball and plays a lot in April, however, I know of one person who waits until the start of May to begin playing bases.

He says that he needs a month to compile numbers in order to get a good read on the teams' tendencies for the season. I think that he wants to concentrate on the NBA's opening rounds of playoffs.

Most people get started gambling by betting on football. They get used to point spread betting, which allows them to also get into betting on basketball. When you're conditioned to this type of wagering, baseball odds can be confusing. I have been gambling for about six years but it was just yesterday that I made my first wager on a baseball game. Plus the comment that baseball is too much of a daily grind is accurate. If you're not looking at lines and making plays every day, it's hard to get a feel for what your strategy should be when things are constantly changing. Casual bettors would be much less likely to make baseball plays than football or basketball.

I've been lurking here for a while and I'm curious to why you would say you lay less vig in baseball. I don't bet baseball but i sometimes look at the threads and usually people are always on the favorites laying around -120 and higher for most of the plays. Almost all NBA and NFL plays lay -105 or -110 so wouldn't you have to hit a higher % to be up in baseball?

One thing about baseball. It's almost vig-free ! Have yourself a bunch of outs with dimelines or better, and you should be able to find both sides of any game within 2-3 cents of each other, like -120/ +117, etc.

Consider the fact that many many bookies consider it a GOOD year if they hold just 2% in baseball.............that should tell you something on why baseball is easier than many other sports.

luckily the NBA playoffs last for 4 months (it seems) so that takes us right to the doorstep of the NFL

I'm already dreading those 2 days in July.. year-round gamblers know what I'm talking about
