TIP OF THE DAY
Sport: MLB - Baseball
Game: Oakland Athletics @ New York Yankees on May 6 2005 7:05PM
Prediction: over
Current Line: -165
Over/Under: 9.5 100
Reason: Here we take advantage of a reasonable low total in a matchup of
two pitchers that have not been performing well early in the season.
A's starter Barry Zito finally got his first win of the season last
Sunday at home against the Mariners. However he will be facing an angry
Yankees squad coming off a series loss at the hands of the Devil Rays.
Despite their struggles, the Yanks are still batting .323 at home
against lefties this season. Zito carries an ugly 5.84 ERA into this
contest.
The Yankees paid big bucks to get Carl Pavano into their rotation this
season. It hasn't gone the way they planned so far as Pavano is just 1-2
with an ERA of over four. He allowed six earned runs in just five
innings last time out against Toronto. Expect another shaky start on
Friday.
Both of these teams are capable of putting runs on the board. That
should be just the case on Friday as these two underachievers slug it
out. Take the over.-
Good Luck :drink:
