My how the mighty have fallen. But all the optomistic Yankee fans will kling onto the fact that its still "early". Well, before you know, it won't be so "early" in the season. I guess their waiting for Baltimore to tier themselves out.

i hate the yanks. been an oriole fan all my life. that being said, yankees have way too much talent to not turn things around at some point.

hopefully it will be too late already when they do....

Quotes on SI website re Bankees

George Steinbrenner is really looking forward to the Kentucky Derby. In fact he thinks his horse, Bellamy Road, has a good shot at winning the Triple Crown. Steinbrenner became even more confident when he realized that the Triple Crown only necessitates winning the first three.
-- Howie, Long Island, N.Y.

When told he was being benched, Yankees center fielder Bernie Williams tried to throw a fit ... but it went just four feet.
-- Tom, New York

The Yankees called up a minor leaguer to make the next start for Randy Johnson, who felt stiffness in his groin in the ninth inning of his start last Friday. GM Brian Cashman said he did not expect Johnson to go on the disabled list but that if the stiffness lasts more than four hours the next time Johnson pitches, the club will contact a physician.

Kick them while they're down I say.If Steinbrenner's horse loses today, maybe he'll kill himself or something.
