Great movie. From a historical stand point, battle scenes, and a surprise as to how far Worm from Rounders (Ed Norton) has progressed. As a matter of fact it blew me away when I got home and found out he was actually in the movie!

Definitely go see this one. Better than the garbage out there over the past few months. The movie will hold you over till Star Wars comes out.

Ed Norton is arguably the best young American actor out there, has bigtime range and sell(Primal Fear, American History X, Rounders, People Vs Larry Flynt, 25th Hour, even did a Woody Allen musical,etc..), and is one of my favorite supporting/character actors along with John Turturro and Harvey Keitel.

Hollywood also needs more vehicles for Billy Crudup and Giovanni Ribisi..talented.

Epics and period pieces have been hit and miss of late at the movies(Troy disappointed), but they usually allow studios a shot at the double whammy(big box office and Oscar nominations in multitudes of categories), but religious themes in film always makes for risky draws, even if under the context of warfare/epic?

I saw it and enjoyed it. I would give it a 7 on a 1-10 scale. Not as good as Gladiator but in the same genre with the same director.

Is it better than Braveheart, The Patriot, or RoadHouse?

General,

Roadhouse? Yes. The Patriot? around the same scale. Braveheart (no way)

It's a pretty decent storyline (espeicially since it had to do with actual history) The battle scenes were pretty cool since it used the epic scale. Was actually intrigued enough about the movie to start researchin the historical facts online.

Go see it.
