Since the topic was brought up about whether maybe MOTHERS Day had an influence on players(which I doubt), I thought I would share with you a tidbit I have used for 20+ years in NCAA football with very good results.

Every year, almost EVERY NCAA team has what they call PARENTS DAY at one of their designatied home games.

Each year, I make note of which teams do this and mark it on my calendar.

There is no doubt in my mind that this HOME team gives just a tad extra effort in these games and thus gains one gains a small advantage on the bookmaker and the general public in general.

Anyway, this is most certainly something that as a handicapper you should be aware of.

PS- The late great JACK PAINTER suggested this idea to me around 1985 and I have always been aware of this ever since.

Rest in peace J.P.

As the football season approaches, I will throw a few PARENTS DAYs that are on some of the teams schedules.

Fish, aren't those games mostly on Last Home Games? Those are mighty powerful games especially if revenge is involved. Fish, when I saw your topic, I got a warm fuzzy feeling in my loin. College football is the best. LT

Precisely why the starters should want to kick ass more as a large favorite........to get their teammates in the game.

That is one way to look at it.
