The way it goes with this site, is when somebody names a play the Play of the Month, Year and Century it's a typical loser. So, let's call this a great value play.
I don't see how the Braves are only -152 with Hudson on the mound in Colorado. He's got a great splitty, his fastball has a lot of life on it, he gets great sink on his pitches. That's the exact type of pitcher you want going in Colorado and keep the ball on the ground. Thought the line should have been at least -180 for the Braves, maybe in the 200's. So...

Value Pick
Atlanta Braves -152

:dogtoilet

Astros +135 (Clemens)
Reds +125 (Harang)
Dodgers +145 (Perez)
Pirates +115 (Redman)

Plus
Marlins/Stros UNDER 7
Orioles -137 (Cabrera)
Braves/Rockies UNDER 11
Mets -125

Good luck Box. I think you are going to do a great job with baseball. I just have that feeling.

How did you like that average perfomance by that very average Mike Hampton yesterday. 2 hit shutout, with a homerun to boot.:lolBIG:

In all seriousness, I'm not getting into it all again, but I stand by what I said. He's an older lefty now that has learned to keep the ball down, hit his spots, and minimize damage. He pitched a great game but it's still my guess it will even out. Long season.

I'm a subscriber to Sports Illustrated. Coincedentally, they had an article in there the day after we had out discussion about top 3 pitchers. They ranked Marlins 1, Braves 2. I don't put a lot of weight into what some journalist who probably never played a game of baseball in his life thinks, but I thought it was ironic that they ran that big article the day after.
Thanks for the kind words about capping. If you have any comments or suggestions, let me know.

Value Pick
Atlanta Braves -152 (Of course the best bet is a loser. Any pick that's hyped more than normal is always a loser.)

:dogtoilet

Astros +135 (Clemens)
Reds +125 (Harang)
Dodgers +145 (Perez)
Pirates +115 (Redman)

(Just wanted to hit 2 of the 4 dogs. Had the Astros already in and Reds until Cincy blew a 5-1 game by giving up a 4 run 9th then losing in extras.)

Plus
Marlins/Stros UNDER 7
Orioles -137 (Cabrera)
Braves/Rockies UNDER 11
Mets -125

(Need the Mets to hold on in the 9th to go 3-1 on the rest of the card)

(Still learning, still trial and erroring.)
