ok maybe I am bitter beacause I lost my Giacomo-Afleet Alex exacta, but these kind of stories make me ill:

"Hertzog made 100 $1 bets -- 50 superfectas and 50 trifectas -- all in random computer-generated quick picks. When he thought he'd lost after the Derby, he left the tickets on a table and walked off."

It's one thing, to randomly bet $100 - hey maybe not such a bad idea when the pools are huge. But when you can't even check your damn tickets and leave them sitting there, come on.

For anyone wondering, no, the teller who found the ticket couldn't have cashed it, she would have been busted and even if she had given it to someone else, they can track what window and time it was sold. Now if she had taken the ticket and waited to see if anyone came forward looking for a ticket, then maybe she could have pulled it off, but then she'd have 600K worth of guilt and 100K in taxes

this story is some scam of some type or an urban legond.

If the guy had 100 quick pick tickets, and only had 99 when he left but did not know that, he would have no idea if the random ticket he left behind was a winner or a loser, what did he do memorize 100 striaght tris and superfectas tickets in 20 seconds?

he won and then left it with the teller for their 2 minutes of fame or to do some scam of some type. Cant put my finger on exactly what but the story out there is bull ****.

I gotta agree with trytry here.

I haven't read the story, but I have heard bits and pieces of it. More getting filled in as it goes along.

First he lost the tick, then he found. Now it comes out he had all the quick picks. But didn't think he won, and left the track? Then some guy tells him he did win? How would anyone know? If it was a quick pick then anyone with possession would own it. There is no way to know who buys those tickets, so if he didn't know he won, left the track, how would he know to go back to look?

I have an idea these gys are in cahoots somehow, or something definately fishy is goping on here. Won't be surprised to see this break in a week or so.

Not to mention he had guys turning over trash cans for two days. the first place ANYONE looks that loses a ticket is the machine they bought it at. Not to mention all the degenrates that scoop handfulls of tickets up all day and run them trhrough the machines looking for refunds and ALL tickets. NO WAY that ticket stays by that machjine overnight. Let alone the clean up crew. How do they not clean that area, or at least think to look there in the first place BEFORE digging through spit and snot filled trash cans?

Story is total bullshit, and not even believeable, no matter how outrageous they try to make it.
