I mean, some of these guys I play against have an obvious problem. I have been doing some reading, and have progressed to the .50/1.00 NL game, limiting myself to $75 a session, for personal reasons.

Not a lot of money, but these guy's chase, and chase. Kinda sad, really.

If it eases your guilt you can send all your winnings to me. I have no problem with it.

Noreaga,

What have you heard? I think right now it is the BEST place to play tournaments at. HANDS DOWN, no questions asked. Reason? The 100k guarantee on SUN is not even getting 500 people. So you are playing for a prize pool with 1/2 the field already gone. I am a River Stars junkie, but if you are playing a tourney for money a 1/2 empty field makes better sense. A good friend of mine, who is VERY solid NL player won his 10k WSOP seat and trip last week at BoDog.

You'll find that things tighten up at 1/2, moreso at 2/4, and to a much greater extent beyond that.

I dont know why more people dont play these. That is a tremendous ROI. If you keep playing in it, you will hit one of those huge top paying spots and it makes it all worth it.

Ive seen guys come in last and first in these things. You just have to keep plugging away.

I'm one of the guys who find some very strange goings on at bodog. ive quit em twice now. went back 2 days ago with a renewed enthusiasm that it was just poker. frankly im still perturbed. i see guys stay in with nothing at every site i go to but its usually guys who you can tell are desperate, short stacked, etc. they hit something on the river and boom...bad beat. but at bodog its the exact opposite....this just happened maybe 45 mins ago and i see it everytime i play there...i have won there but things like these make me wonder.

im at a table of 9, 8 guys hovering around 1000 chips 1 guys has 6000. we get our cards he bets 4 times the BB. ive got ace suited so i call.....flop comes A 77. he bets a little i raise he calls...now this guy didnt get 6000 chips being an idiot either he thinks i have nothing and im trying to buy the chip leader off or he can beat AA or 3 7's the most likely hands i could have....turn comes 6 and im all-in. if hes got aces beat he can have it and i dont figure him to have that 3rd 7...A7? naaaa he's got to have pckt 10's or something..river is a 3 and you guessed it he rode all that out with 45 off suit.......ok its a bad beat, he got lucky on the river, yadda yadda.....BUT tell me how in the hell he got to 6000 chips playing chase the rabbit like that???? he's risking 1/4 of his chips on me having nothing ????? i just dont see things like this from good players with large stacks at ANY other site.....im sorry and i know ive already apoligized once for saying bodog is rigged but hands like this by CHIP LEADERS not short stacked idiots make me and apparently a lot of other people wonder what the hell is going on there.....

the same way uninformed BJ players hit 15 vs. a 5 and has a run of 10-20K, anything, can and will happen in the short run. There is such a thing as luck, but it doesnt last for ever, like a mathmatical advantage.

EXACTLY!!!

That is precisely why luck can play a major role in situations where a gambler only has a small edge of say 51-56%.

But like you say, in the longterm, luck will not hold up.

Think of videopoker, in some instances you have LESS than a half of 1% the best of it.

LUCK plays a MAJOR role in the shortterm with this kind of small advantage..........as ANYBODY and EVERYBODY will win or lose based on luck.

But give the SMART player 1,000 hours on that machine and he will come out ahead 99% of the time and basically take luck right out of the equation.

Your play of calling a raise with a suited ace is exactly why these games are profitable.

you serious Steeser??? he raised it only 4 times the BB..proppoker did 100% the right move and called that hand...and got the flop he wanted to boot, if would not have gotten anything on the flop then he should have folded...the other guy had no biz being in the hand at all IMHO

I'm dead serious, it's a donkey play to call a raise with Ax suited. He did not get the flop he wanted, the flop he wanted was a flush draw. He didn't say what the x was in his hand, but if it's A2-A6, then he is way behind A8-AK.

Sure, calling the flop raise and the turn all-in was terrible play, but it was also big stack play.

I stand by my statement that the posters call of the raise in this hand was atrocious, unless it was AJ or better...
