POW (2-0 YTD, double play): DET @ TEX over 11
Third straight road start for Ledezma, who's, by the way, Detroit's worst pitcher (not only starter) in just about all pitching stats this year, including ERA (by far the worst as his ERA is at 6.59 right now and no other Detroit starter has ERA over 4.25), WHIP, opp OPS, MOB etc. Ledezma allowed 19 ER in last 21.1 IP, walking 11 and striking out only 10 batters. Those stats are looking even worst when you know that the best ranked offense he has faced so far this year was CWS, ranked #18 in the majors, while all other starts came against the league's worst 5 offenses in LAA, KC and CLE. Texas' offense is the best ranked offense he's seen all year long, and Texas' ballpark in Arlington is the ballpark with the highest OPS he's been pitching at this year. As for Astacio, he too is the worst starter on Texas' starting rotation and he's been hammered last three times out, allowing 19 ER (26 HITS !) in 10.2 IP. Both offenses woke up yesterday, scoring combined 9 runs on 21 hits, after scoring only 2 runs on 15 hits the day before. Hard to believe that two top 15 offenses can fail to go over the total at least once in this ballpark, where 11 + runs have been scored in at least one game in 15+ straight series, especially with those two struggling starters on the mound. The HPU, Fieldin Culbreth is 3-2 (to the under) this year, but the average total of runs scored has been 11.14 in those 5 games that he umped. I see 15 runs scored in this game.
Other plays:
SD @ CIN over 10.5
OAK @ BOS under 9.5
I'm not working today, so there is a possibility for 1-2 more plays to be added on today's card, depending on the results of these three early games.
