TIP OF THE DAY
Sport: MLB - Baseball
Game: Arizona Diamondbacks @ Colorado Rockies on May 12 2005 8:35PM
Prediction: Over
Current Line: -110
Over/Under: 13 103
Reason: Put two starting pitchers with terrible control into a game at
Coors Field and what do you have? The likelihood of a game going above
the total.
That's the case here with Arizona's Russ Ortiz opposing Colorado's Shawn
Chacon. These guys are wilder than Paris Hilton. Chacon has allowed 16
walks in his last two starts, neither of which consisted of more than 5
2/3 innings.
Ortiz by comparison, makes Chacon look like he has pinpoint accuracy.
Ortiz never even made it to the fifth inning in either of his last two
starts. He gave up 10 earned runs in those two starts, consisting of a
combined eight innings, while allowing 26 hits and walks.
The Rockies are ripe for an 'over' game. They are swinging the bats
well, scoring 30 runs their past four games, and their bullpen has been
terrible.
Good Luck and enjoy:drink:
