i think the 90s was a lost decade for music. what i remember most were the scandals and trends of the time. SCANDALS:tonya harding, joey buttafuoco, monicagate, elian gonzalez and the slow speed chase starring OJ. the TRENDS:gen-x,grunge,the macarena, the rachel haircut(friends) what in gods name were we thinking?i had that haircut too.lol.i did the macarena and that takes alot to admit to. i may need the shrink after bringing it up again.i think the early 90s finally killed off the WUBBA WUBBA WUBBA skank downtown julie brown.lol.what was mtv thinking? so what do you remember most about the 90s?~RG

These didn't define the 90's but this is what comes to mind when I think of the 90's. IOU shirts, OJ, Sega Genesis, lots of people saying dude all the time, Nirvana, guys shaving lines in the sides of their heads and girls with big "poofs" in front of their hair. Most of this is early 90s maybe even late 80's I forget.

The O J Simpsom chase. That more than anything defined the 90's for me.
It caused me to never idiolize anyone ever again. I learned about man's inhumanity, about the law ,about people. I started seeing everyone in a different light. I actually think the 90's changed my perspective on life. I do not sweat the small stuff because someone can end your life in a second and be free to live his own.

the 1990's will always be remember for the internet coming out in human history

the personal computer became affordable and useful to the masses

US power was greater then than it is now I think too

big American stock rally driven by technology stocks & world wide economic boom

blowjobs in da White House & pornographic official government report from Kenneth Star unbelieveable must be a first in human history!

revolution in military hardware and prehaps fighting techniques, as the 1990's was the time stelth and curise missile came out with precision targeting and attack

they talk about 3rd generation warfare being transformed into 4th generation warfare otherwise also referred to sometimes as net-centric warfare, whatever that means

The 1990's will always be remembered in some parts of the world as the time of the "Washington Consensus" & the Asian Currency Crisis - not favourably though

Enron, Long Term Capitial Management - problems from the 1990's

Hi Roxygurl,

1. you're too kind

2. there are a lot of really intelligent folks here at the Rx forum - when they start talking about other things unrelated to sports, their mental capacities shine through by their ideas, syntax, style of posting - I'm not smart at all compared to them

3. I think people hold back and just act like one of the guys (or girls) because we're talking about football ... and football is not a game for geniuses ... Norman Einstein, now he was a geniues

I am sorry for using the "R" word - and NOTHING EL

first off RG - the Michael Jackson trial smells EXACTLY like OJ it isn't funny - 2 guys who are 100% guilty beyond all belief - but because they have TONS of money for a stellar defense team - and the D.A.'s office is freaking inept - they will get away with their crimes - crimes they would have been covicted of if they were "normal" guys

as for the 90s and what defined it for me

**A BOOMING economy the last 8 years with Stock Prices shooting way up for companies like Qualcomm and Dell and a few Internet stocks (before they went "belly-up") - making ordinary employees/shareholders MULTI-millionaires and allowing them to retire - some in their 20s or early 30s (why they would retire at those ages - no idea, but....)

**A decade that seemed to go by in about 2 weeks. i have no idea where the 90s went but it seemed like yesterday i was working in Bristol, CT (Feb, 1991)and then i was a few classes away from getting my MBA (June, 2000)

**Music that went from GREAT (80s) to mostly "unlistenable" (90s)

**Waiting 20+ years to FINALLY get to see the 4th quarter of a Broncos' Super Bowl game and literally being on pins and needles for all 60 minutes and having to watch the game by myself i was sooooooooooo nervous. when Elway got spun around in SB 32 i KNEW we would win and in a play i will recall until the day i die - when John Mobley knocked down Favrenugen's 4th down pass with 20-something seconds left intended for Mark Chmura i was like EVERY OTHER Broncos' fan and member of the team in that it was a dream that FINALLY came true - MY BRONCOS were going to be SB Champs (and i still have The Denver Post from that next day as well as a Video Tape of the game and all the hoopla as well as an audio tape of the last few minutes). i actually saw the last few minutes of the game the other day
