What do you think of the negative articles reagarding the Wynn, in particular this morning's about the restaurant staff calling their old jobs asking to come back.
Obviously, there will be some growing pains with a new opening, but do you feel the criticism is warranted or there is some sort of backlash?
Just looking for some insider feedback.

I have not read the article yet but personally from what I've seen the criticism is warranted. Employee's are getting pissed, Security is just off 12 hour days, Caddies are still working 12-14 hours a day with no days off, Valet is a mess, The Uniform Department is a joke, EDR food is sub standard, Front desk personal are stressed out and customer service has been horrible.

IMHO .... Human Resources blew it ... they hired imcompetant managers in almost every department and we opened WAY too soon with inadaquate training.

Huge growing pains.

What does the Wynn Sportsbook look like and who's running it?

Coming from someone who seemed to think Wynn was going to instantly be the greatest thing west of the Mississippi...Kiss1's comments speak volumes.

Wynn will probably be OK though. Just gonna have to throw mucho dinero into it.

Not that big from that shot and mainly a race book area.NFL Sundays will be a joke if you are visiting there.

I'd prefer the book at MB or the Cabaret Theatre at NYNY for NFL Sundays. Honestly however the SB at Wynn is very nice and comfortable, the shot I found does not show the "sports" monitors or that section of the book very well.

Do they have a buffet?

it has to be really rough trying to deal with big crowds when EVERY EMPLOYEE is trying to learn their job and get settled in. Wynn will be fine. If I were a disgruntled employee, I would wait at least 3 months before considering leaving. It will calm down and get better.

I ate at the buffet and it was ok, subpar by LV standards. Nothing to rant nor rave about.

It is an okay place. Definitely nice, but almost exactly like the Bellagio. It left me wondering why it was necessary to build another casino. Isn't there a limit to the number of suckers that will give their money away to finance these places?

I said this exact thing about 3 weeks ago.

Everyone said, "Oh yea right, it will be the hottest thing since sliced bread"

Guess I was right.

Is the access to the sportsbook easy say as the Stardust,Orleans,Hilton or the Mirage with Spring Mountain entrance valet or is it a hassle to get in and out of from what the parking sounds like?

Park in the self park, and you're very close to the sports book. piece of cake to get to.

I was giving my perspective as an employee not as a customer/guest. Most of the problems we are having you won't even notice (unless a fixture falls on your head :)

The vast majority of us (employees) know things will get worked out and we are happy to have the opportunity to work here. As professionals our customer service "attitude" should be second to none and I assure you, it will be.

My stay was a horror story. Checked in one room, hadn't been cleaned. Called front desk at 3:30pm, they would send housekeeping right up. 6:00pm came and still no housekeeping. We had to get to a dinner reservation so at 6:15om we accepted a room change to a less preferable room.

This time the room was missing TV remotes, waste baskets and various other items. I called down to front desk prior to leaving for dinner. We returned to room at 1:30am to find that the only thing that had been brought up was a bottle opener, everything else still missing. Again I called down to the front desk, talked to the same staff, and she said she had called housekeeping 5 times, she will call them again and talk to a manager.

3:00am and still no housekeeping. I decide to go on the internet. Look for LAN cable and there is none to be found. This time I call down to the front desk to see if I can go to the front desk to pick one up. I am told they don't have them but the front desk person would personally find one and bring it up.

I wait another 45 minutes and no one comes. I go down to the front desk and finally talk to a manager. Get moved to antoher room. Luckily the manager went with me to check the room because the one she moved me to was also dirty. Go wait in room while she finds a new room for us. It wasn't until 4:45am until we were finally in a clean room with all the appropriate appointments.

Not exactly the service I would expect when paying $650/night for a room.

One half of one night ($375). My wife did have an opportunity to talk to Mr. Wynn and it sounds like we will be well taken care of, but it was definately a bad experience.

Your wifes words most definately caught the right "ear."

It took me forty five minutes to get Harry Connick Jr a key that would work on his suite door. I've got more stories but it's better not to make them public :)
