Used to love the ElRancho. No one would be in there and you coundt go 5 ft with running into someone across the street at Circus.
Great place to get your drinks quick from the cocktail wench. Cut cowgirl outfits too.

Top Story

Long-rumored among inside sources, it’s now official that a megaresort called Fountainebleau will be built on the site where the El Rancho used to stand. It’s yet another major player for the North Strip, which, along with the North’s existing properties, will eventually be home to Wynn Las Vegas, Encore, Venetian, Palazzo, and the Trump Towers.

Product of the Week: Weighing the Odds in Hold 'Em Poker by King Yao, $24.95, Order #1417.
A former derivatives trader, Yao looks at poker from a particularly analytical perspective, covering key topics such as starting hands, position, calculating outs and pot odds, strategy-raising for free cards, bluffing, semi-bluffing, slow playing, and check raising. There’s bonus coverage of short-handed play, tips for playing online, and a good “extra topics” section with interesting discussions of offbeat, but poker-related subjects. LVA recommends Captain Cook's casino.

They offer a variety of fun games in "play-for-fun" or real-money mode along with 3 excellent signup bonus offers:

$16 with no purchase required -- download and register the software. Register a credit card and they'll put $16 in your account.

$40 for $20 -- deposit $20 and you'll get a 200% bonus of $40 for a total of $60. You can choose to do this up to three times in the first month for a total of $120 in bonus money for $60 in deposits. (very nice!)

$100 for $100 -- get a 100% bonus up to $100.

These are some excellent offers. One important note, however, is that blackjack play does not qualify for wagering requirements. Make sure to read their terms & conditions prior to playing.

Look for the Captain Cook's casino link under the "Recommended Casinos" on the LVA home page:
