Coach D'Antoni has taken the principles he learned in Europe and translated them into today's NBA game.
I give that complete credit for the Phoenix Suns' leap into the pantheon this year.

Honestly,

if you guys watched more of the Euro games, you would see the parallels. Much like why Team USA got worked in Athens.

Yes, Phoenix has talent in Marion, Stud-a-mire, and Santa Clara Stevie, but can you really argue their talent is that much greater than the Mavs the last few years?

I bet Cuban is pulling his hair out right now, thinking he oughta sign the CSKA Moscow coach instead of bumbling Avery.

Easier three-point line and the wider lane helps make the international game have the style it does. You can't be Shaq and just camp out down low and defenses can't collapse down low because the three is easier to hit. I think the size and athleticism of our biggest players is the only reason why they don't change the rules. Thankfully the Suns and Sonics, among others, have rescued us from the crap masquerading as hoops last few years. If it kept up who knows maybe the NBA might have figured it out.
