BIGBET, write to:

U.S. Dept of Commerce
Patent and Trademark Office
Washington, D.C. 20231

ask for a Disclosure Document form. Fill it out and send it back.
What it is is a discription of your invention (in your words), it's dated and on file with the Patent Office. This way if someone steals your idea you have proff you thought of it first. Thats all it is. It's not a patent application or anything close. It's proof you had the idea and when.....Scotty

apply for a patent yourself.

google it to figure out how.

sure, every invention is a longshot, but you have nothing to gain by giving it away.

one of my best friends from back home inherited some money from a deceased family member. anyway, he had an idea for an invention and he took it to one of those companies that advertise that they will take your idea and market it into a successful product.

Unfortunately, he spent his inheritance and nothing ever came from it.

Be skeptical and cautious, ask for references and best of luck.

BBB is crap, they never say anything bad about anybody ! Don't consider a lack of complaints to BBB to mean anything. It's a useless organization, they are probably afraid of lawsuits.

I'm sure most people get screwed with inventions ! Percentage wise, it's against you.

You could easily blow a lot of money on this. I recall Ralph Cramden and Archie Bunker getting into this.

It better be something really revolutionary. I may be wrong, but I think most ideas are sold to big companies.

Good Luck !

Here's an old invention... the spork ( fork and spoon combo), usually plastic. Somebody thought of it!

It seems to be used by jails, hospitals, and restaurants you don't want to eat at.

Good idea, but did the inventor of the spork make millions ? I have no idea !

Consider Your Options

I would check out this site before making any decisions. This will inform you of the patent process and also give you options regarding agents, attorneys and manufacturers.

www.uspto.gov

Also, this site contains very good and inexpensive utility patent software.

www.patentpro.us

Take the time to do your research and put all your thoughts on paper. Stick with it and good luck to you, winbet1234.
