I have quite a few in my head that I can rattle off automatically ! Most of us have our own DOB, SSN, family birthdays, anniversary, etc. and some others stored.

Am I unusual in the sense I can remember my Neteller acct #, bank account #'s, license plate #'s from vehicles I owned decades ago, addresses of places I lived at 20 years ago ( I've had several dozen addresses), phone numbers, zip codes, account numbers and passwords for dozens of books ( many not used in years).

If you think about it, there are all kinds of numbers floating around your head. How about all kinds of sports numbers and stats ? I think we ( gamblers) have great memories in general.

I don't have my driver's license and VIN numbers cluttering up my head, don't use them often. It doesn't explain why I remember useless numbers from the past.

I wish I could erase the memory of an address I lived at briefly in 1982 and replace it with something more useful.

How much useless data floats around your cranium ?

Doug, I agree with you that it is a talent that most Mathematician, Accountant, MBA, Biz Sharp, Gambler, BM,etc..have to the highest percentiles...Numerical Memorization.

That is until their mental hard drives short circuit.

I agree. I can nearly multiply any 2- digit by any other 2-digit number in my head. I know a guy that can recite Pi out to about 100 decimal places !

The years certainly catch up. I took a number skills class in the Military where they would put a group of numbers on an overhead for a set amount of seconds while we tried to stare, memorize what we seen, and write them down after the slide had been removed. It got to a point where they would post like 13/15 numbers maybe in a split second. You had to have a certain score to continue in finance. I wish it was convenient for me to continue on in mathematics education, but at this time, it is just not feasible. I have always been a fan of math, but even my algebra is weakinging these days. I am not far off in Geo & trig.
