It has been my observation that most people who gamble, lose money. That would be a good justification not to bother.

B/c they don't look at it the way they should, as an investment. They place an ugly stigma on it and dwell on the negatives of gambling. They should do their homework and look at the positives and "invest" in situations where they think they can do well in. But these are the same people who'd have no problem throwing 5g's in the stock market, not realizing it's the same.

One should NOT be seriously gambling if it is putting abnormally stressful undo strain on your.......

FINANCES
RELATIONSHIPS
HEALTH

The only way you will ever be SUCCESSFUL at gambling is to make the above three things a priorty first ahead of gambling.

Do not take these words of wisdom with a grain of salt.

Also, on the flip side, there are individuals who just aren't cut out for it. There should be some personality profile test that people should take to see if they have the make up to gamble. A lot of big corporations give these tests to prospetive candidates. If individuals don't meet a certain criteria it should be advised they don't gamble b/c it could lead to problems b/c of their personality make-up.

cadillac man,

I agree with you. One has to have the personality to endure volatile changes in bankroll in order to be successful ay sports betting...

you have to build a big enough bankroll and play at a small % of it.. the gambling cannot be stressful, not even with 10 losses in a row.. of course i feel you must be able to hit 55-56% winners to justify even doing it..

I know for every 100 plays that i make, i am going to win 55-56 of them.. got to be able to handle the losing streaks, thats the key..

The same holds true with any kind of longterm beatable gambling venture.........be it poker, blackjack, video poker, horse racing, etc., etc.

ps- One of the very successful keys to being successful at gambling is to have yourself a SEPERATE gambling bankroll that is completely independent of your day-to-day living expenditure bankroll. Ask 99.8% of the successful individuals in this business and they shall tell you the samething.

Wll, let me ramble on about something I don't see enough of my Friends do...

SAVOR THE WIN...

This is particularly true when I go to Vegas and have a WINNING session...

There is nothing wrong and everything right about taking some time to enpoy the FEELING of WINNING before you go right back and play another session...

I believe my psyche plays a lot in how I will do...

I think the time of the year is important. I can not achieve the same focus, intensity and rhythm that I can with football.

I think when you can say how can you not gamble, you have to keep in mind that picking spots even if for lengthy periods of time is what is going on with many.

Truth be told I have not bet a lot this month, but I am an action whore during other times of the year such as football.

This year's playoffs is not getting my rocks off like I thought it would. heh. Hopefully that will change.

Early season baseball is more luck than most will admit.

LIFE IS A GAMBLE

sure you can stop now
come home from your everyday life
sit on your ass and watch extreme home makeover every night

or you can get your blood pumping and put some cash on a game and actually add some gamble/entertainment to your life

now this isnt the case for everyone, but id say for a lot of people here.. if you didn't have gambling what the hell else would you do for fun???

thats a good point koolzie. I find myself betting just to bet right now. But when football comes it's "time to get the money out" like the Russian whiz says from the old MIT black jack team.
