I just got back from the hockeymeister's house and enjoyed some great food prepared by frau hockeymeister (Debbie) and talked sports with some really good company. The Czechs defeated Canada 3-0 and I have to say they wanted it more and outworked and outskated Canada.
As winky mentioned, as sharp as Bobby Bryde is in hockey, he is an outstanding CFL handicapper. The guy works as hard or harder than any sports handicapper you'll find. I have to take a moment and share a great gambling story from about seven or eight years ago. As everyone knows, Las Vegas got out of the sports betting business quite some time ago. Bobby gave out a CFL total that he loved and said play it over 58. I wasn't betting online yet so I started shopping around the sportsbooks. The few places that booked CFL had it 58 or higher. I walked into Harrah's which is the ultimate corporate chicken s**t sportsbook. They had the game at 56. I asked what the limit was and they said $100. After I stopped laughing, I bet the $100. I called Bobby and he said keep playing it because we would each take some and he had a few guys that wanted it also. I hung around Harrah's off and on for the better part of the afternoon and kept betting $100 here and there and had some other people I knew get some betting slips for me.
I ended up with three dimes on the total. I had thirty $100 betting slips. I kept some. Bobby took some and some people he knew took some. The game flew over. I went to Harrah's in the middle of the night and cashed them at the main cage so the idiots in the sportsbook wouldn't see me cashing in thirty tickets. After the airhead cashier finished counting out the money she looked at me and said "Wouldn't it have been easier if you put them all on one ticket?".
