I will be up later with the next series selections. Just a few comments before I get there. I will use my personal record for record keeping purposes. I usually play early and sometimes the lines will move with me and other times against me. These things should even out and if you send more time shopping for a better line the better you will do. I don't have that much time.

On the Boston series, I lost the first game, pushed the second game and pushed the third game. Officially it is a losing series for me so I will count it that way, but in my record you will see to add pushes in round two games. I only lost my one play so that is not very painful. I never got to the third game of the progression. If I push a game one I will do the same thing. Count it as a push and play the same bet over again. I know some players won with Boston under 9.5 on saturday. If that is the case great!!!

The yankee series was my first losing a three game progression and of course it had to happen with my least favorite team the high payrolled yankees. Figures!!

If you won the Boston series and played the progression the weekend series would have shown a profit of 6 units on the 2 unit plays, 3 units on the one unit (including White Sox) minus the 7 units and juice on Yankee series and a profit for the weekend. If you pushed the two Boston games like I did you have a slight loss.

I saw one post about selling on totals, I haven't study it at all but I know I would never sell on or off of 7 or 9 runs they are just too important of numbers, kind of like 3 and 7 in the NFL. I do sell points all of the time on NBA totals.

Two other things, if someone is playing these and wants to be more conservative, I would recommend playing just the 2 unit plays. I think they have the best chance of going through the progression without getting swept. Lastly, I go into each series thinking I will go 2-1 or 3-0 to the side I have picked. I just want to get one win and be happy. 1-2 or 0-3 are the less likely scenarios. I don't know how each series did because I was busy this weekend but I know the hometown Twins went 2-1 to under, I think Detroit went under their first two games in doubleheader. Not sure on Wasghington, I do know the Friday lost was a heartbreaker with 4 or 5 runs in the last 1 1/2 innings. Not sure about white sox series. I think on Friday it was the Yankee game with a couple of runs in the eighth and ninth to send it over or that could have been a winning series (off the top of my head) Before when I played every day and handicapped the games everyday, if I won ther first game and I now play the next 2 the only way I would have a bigger profit than I have after winning game one is to sweep the other two games more often than splitting the other two games. I think this is a decent money management approach. You could then up or lower your play sizes like a Kelly criterionafter each set of series.

I will post my new record shortly.

Star,

Already played two of the three series. I'll add the Wash Under . Can't believe you don't have Bos/Oak under. I played it as a double play, thinking for sure that you'd have it.

Keep up the good work. When are we going to have lunch? Get my two NBA winners in that forum so you can get them in early before the lines move.

Messman if you go back to a post on May 6 it tells you more about my rationale for my system and also about the betting scheme. I think the fianl reply was May 9th. After you have read that let me know if you have any questions.

MG Man cold crappy weather, did you catch any fish or just bottle bass? I almost picked Boston/Oakland Under. I put a star next to it to review it again and I decided to be conservative and leave it alone. It would have been my next best selection. I like unders in that park too because of the huge amount of foul ground behind home plate. For what its worth my other close but no tiparillo games were Seattle under, Dodgers Under.

Where did you get that under total in the NBA all I see at our accounts is 186.

northern star, in earlier posts you have mentioned how well baker is doing in nba and that it is kind of a personal thing for him to beat the linemaker. does he post these consistently or just in his contest? thanks for the info and for the great job you are doing!

Tendog: Baker has been posting in the contest in the NBA section. He worked extremely hard at developing a program to out perform the linemakers and his program does. I helped give some ideas on how to improve it and some of my suggestions helped to improve our success rate in predicting the final score. We also worked together on a money management system which combined an off shoot of the kelly criterion that I have previously written papers about and a money management sytem that Baker has used in the financial markets. Our success combining both the selections and the money management was unbelievable (so I won't even state it here because no one would believe it). In the playoffs Baker is hitting above 70% when the line moves with him!!! We have some other ideas on how to use a more accurate line to increase the profits. He is busy getting ready to use it in the WNBA. Don't laugh, we will play preschool soccer if it makes $$$. I just hope adding women to the equation doesn't screw things up like it can it real life (sorry Roxy but the truth hurts!). Check out the NBA section of the contest.

Roxy I have two girls and a boy and we try to go to one WNBA game a year. It is a refreshing change from the high paid pampered boys of the NBA. Poor Sprewell complaining he has a family to feed. Give me a break. In Minnesota we do have a couple of players who are not only good players but they appear to be nice guys. Fred Hoiberg's kids go to the same elementary school as two of my kids and he just recently came in and talked to the kids about sportsmenship. He told them he has never got a technical foul. We had a run in with Kevin Garnett after one of the t-wolves games. It was a snowy January night and we were hanging out after the game by accident where the players drove out. Mark Madsen (ran into Maddog a couple of times and he seems to know he is very fortunante to play in the NBA) and Wally Szerbiak were very nice to the 10 kids standing there. Sprewell and Cassel can sign somewhere else they won't be any loss to the community. The t-wolves lost to the rockets in double overtime. Garnett missed the winning shot in regulation and overtime. I amsure he wasn't too happy. He drove his white Escalde up to the edge of the garage door and saw the 10 kids standing there in the snow, backed up about 20 feet and told the guard to let the kids come in and he would sign some autographs. He called my son up first, my son gave him his rookie card and pen. Funny as hell the pen wouldn't work and my son came running back with a sad and nervous look. I didn't have another pen. I told him to borrow another girls pen in line. Kevin already had got the girls pen and was signing his card. Kevin signed all the kids stuff and the got into his Escalade, waved and honked at the kids. It made my son's whole year!!! That is how those high paid athletes should treat kids. Minnesota is lucky to have a superstar like Garnett!!

Looking forward to catching a WNBA game, price is right, you get good seats, they have alot of fun things going on for the family. A good environment and they play an entertaining game.

Hey NS
Great post about Kevin Garnett. Things like that are great to hear and with so much scum in the NBA, I think people should know about the KG's and others who are quality people.

Its also great having you here at the RX. and i hope you are able to hang around for a long time.

Just a warning. The more successful you are the more people will try to test you. Have a bad day and I guarantee some idiot will bash you as hard as he can. You have to learn to ignore these types. GL

Stilwell:

Unfortunately it is easier to bash than pick winners. I believe positive energy brings positive results, so I hope if someone comes to my thread they have positive posts. I have been doing it long enough to know I could give someone 10 straight winners and then two losers and they would still find a way to lose money. If someone decides to use my selections I want them to know the final responsibility is all theirs and not mine. If someone can use my information in some way shape or form for the positive then I wish them the best. Sometimes it isn't just about playing a winner, it can also be about staying off a loser. For over 20 years I followed a service called Underdog in football. By far the best and most consistent handicapper I have ever seen. Many times his wins were double wins in my mind. Not only did his side win but he took off of betting the other side. I learned early to never buck "the dog", I use to joke that he had his name wrong and that the last three should have been reversed because he was just "under God" in making his selections.

Underdog is under the ground and has been for about 4 years. Don't be fooled by other cappers trying to cash in on a true legend by still using his name. The best capper I ever saw was a guy by the name of Shoebox (also dead). He once picked about 29 out of 31 college basketball games right ATS in a row.

Juggler:

The unfortunate thing about Underdog is the mystery. I have never ever been able to find anyone who got his picks direct. I have heard tons of rumors. I got him from the same guy for close to 20 years. There have been tons of rumors about heart attacks ect. I don't know of anyone who knows for sure. The picks I got still hit in the 60% range. Sometimes when there is smoke there is fire.

Interesting there was someone better than the dog, because I have never heard of him and I tracked literally thousands of handicappers.
