This is really getting interesting. Do any of the Rx Las Vegas Posters have any insight on this?
Las Vegas' Walters Golf counters
Stallion Mountain criticism with
apparent bogus testimonial
The Walters Golf Group of Las Vegas, beleaguered by customer complaints and published reports of poor conditions at two of its courses, has apparently posted on their company web site a questionable testimonial regarding its course conditions.
Desperate to counter the barrage of negative publicity generated from its members, tourists as well as media, Owner Billy Walters posted online a testimonial from a company called The Flatt Golf Group that claims to be based out of Las Vegas. The letter, as written by a President Keith Flatt, states that Flatt "flew in" to Las Vegas to inspect controversial Stallion Mountain Country Club for himself. Flatt writes, "I have been playing at Stallion Mountain for the past 10 years and have never seen the Golf Course in better shape. The fairways were well groomed and consistent with no areas left unattended."
The letter goes on to add, "The new routing of the Course was very nice and the Greens were the best that I have ever seen them. After reviewing the course I will not hesitate to send Players out to enjoy Stallion Mountain."

The supposed testimonial is articulate, concise and impressive.
On the phone this past weekend, Flatt told me, "I had heard rumors of bad conditions at Stallion, so I wanted to check it out for myself. I was very impressed with what I saw."
'Best Greens in Las Vegas'
During our conversation, Flatt said emphatically that Stallion Mountain Country Club: "has the best greens of any golf course in Las Vegas - any. The course is in fantastic shape. It just could not be better." The greens are so good, according to Flatt, who said he manages a golf course in Texas, that "they are better than the greens of Spanish Trail (Country Club)."
Now that's quite a testimonial since Spanish Trail Country Club (where Flatt resides) is one of the most exclusive country clubs in all of Las Vegas, home to Andre Agassi, a prince and a number of high-rolling movie stars. Even from afar, that course is nothing short of spectacular.
Never played the golf course
Want to know what's really odd? During our conversation, I asked Flatt how he shot the day he reviewed Stallion Mountain. "I did not play the course," he stammered.
Come again!? Not only did Flatt not play Stallion Mountain in April, as it turns out, it's doubtful he was even there. Flatt claimed to have "toured" the course on the behalf of guests coming out to Nevada. He said he did not see any ground-under-repair signs, fairways or roughs with patches or yellowed greens needing care.
Flatt also said he has never done business with Walters Golf and even added that he did know Billy Walters personally. Later, however, he did tell me he's played golf with Walters "a couple of times."
Flatt said he wrote the testimonial at the behest of his best friend who works for Walters Golf. He would not say what the friend does for Walter Golf.
Company not in business
Calls to Las Vegas directory assistance yielded no results for The Flatt Golf Group. According to Nevada Better Business Bureau, The Flatt Golf Group, located at the same address as listed on his published letterhead, was a putting greens company that is now out of business (incidentally, the phone number listed on the Flatt Golf Group letterhead is Flatt's home number). The Nevada Secretary of State lists his company in default as of February.
