Phillies blow...but Abreu is on one of the all time hot streaks. Another homer tonight for his 9th in 10th game. He missed a homer by 3 feet in his one homerless game.

One of the, if not the most, underrated hitters in the game.

Been saying this for 2-3 years now.

Truly agree PHISH. Abreu is one of top players in the game.

300+ hitter, avg 30 SB, 100 BBs, 100+ RBI, 25+ HRs, 100+ runs every season last 6 years!

Wow

Only player in baseball history to hit a homer in 9 out of 10 games.

That game with no homers he hit a couple to the warning track as well as the one that hit hte top of the wall. Few more feet and it would be a record 10 game home run streak.

Great hitter, great overall skills, but no heart. Bring him up in a clutch situation every at bat and he is now a .220 hitter with 15 homers a year. Also funny to watch him bail out on fly balls near the wall and give up a close play running home to avoid a collision.

Philly fans boo him despite the numbers for his lack of hustle and heart.

Much like Shaq taking 35 Lbs off his knee caps, Abreu took some tummy off his abdomen from the last two years, and his swing looks quicker again.

Taking Abreu off of Houston's hands via the unprotected list, may be one of the best moves the Phils ever have made(Carleton trade the best in Philly history). But as Ladeda states, he like his teammates seems to be totally indifferent to the game's outcome, rather just into accumulating his stats like his fellow Phils.

Still this organization is dizzy, from ownership, to Ed Wade, to Manuel, to an indifferent hodge-podge of no-chemistry..all this for years running.

Jeff Lurie and Andy Reid are the only bright spots in Pro Philly sports..Bobby Clarke is an egomanic on the mental fade, the Sixers are listless.

However, Phil Martelli is one of the best in the land, plus Jay Wright has Nova back on the climb in Hoops again!
