I find myself falling into the trap that a team is due to win or due to cover. I can't help it. I would say it's 60/40 that I'm wrong when I use this angle. I'm wondering if anyone else falls into this trap. It may be tantamount to doubling up on black every time until it hits on the roulette table.

for what i have notice so far when it comes to the team being the out right winner as it comes to lines and betting the money line, the sport book are 85% correct so usually i go with who they post as the favorite. i love betting the total and half lines that does it for me. it brings me the money:toast:

LOL Dime. No I've been decent over the past year. Not so good before that. Generally play horses. And I don't believe in the due factor for a horse race but its not a bad idea to predict which horses will bounce off their fastest races.

I used to believe in 'being due' and so I lost a lot. I would bet against teams on a winning streak. I would bet on teams that had lost 10 in a row. It didn't work for me at all. It made sense to me at the time, but man did that kill me. Now I either play against the losing streak or on the winning streak or no play the streaks altogether. I try not to believe anyone is due anymore. That lesson was very difficult for me to learn and cost me much.

I'll give an example. I placed a 3% play on Yankees tonight -1.5 runs for -120. Two years ago, I would have bet on Seattle to pull one out and on the Yanks to finally lose. I may lose tonight, but I try to find teams that are winning and play those and teams that are losing and play against those and especially when those two teams get together, like tonight with the Yanks and Mariners. I'm not advocating playing this play, but I am saying that we should not outthink ourselves or OVER think the situations. The yanks are winning lately and seattle is losing lately. I take the yanks to win. Too simple, right? We'll see after the game. Good luck. tulsa

Ok...here is the crappy part: if I would have known that they were up already then I wouldn't have mentioned that! I didn't realize the game had even started as I typed that!

I know that Kruser6 probably is not making fun of me. I hope. However, if anyone thinks that I was padding my words with a 4 run first inning then go check out my record and my pick today on the baseball forum's best bet thread. I can't believe that. I apologize....wouldn't have used them as an example had I known it was going my way already. tulsa

I think the reverse applies if anything. A team on a winning streak (due for a loss?) will be more likely to win because psychologically they believe in themselves and their ability to overcome when behind. The opposite applies to a team on a losing streak.
