Gonna go low on units today because of the light schedule/runline plays
Colorado/San Fran OVER 12 1/2 (-117) (3 units)...Those Coors Field OVERS are not as abundant as they used to be, but I believe the bats will reign today. Tomko has been bad on the road, and doesn't like pitching at Coors (not many do), against a guy who has actually been good at home, but lit up by SF in his 2 starts vs. the G Men ( both at SF, by the way). Don't like either bullpen too much. Should be pretty warm in Denver this afternoon.
Detroit -1 1/2 (+129) (1 unit)....Jeremy Bonderman is one of the best young pitchers in the game, and it looks like people are beginning to notice. While the buzz about Scott Kazmir has quieted of late. Tampa in a funk (again), while Detroit has climbed back to the .500 mark, having lost 6 of 7 (a bunch of 1 run games, so the ML is good if you like to drink that kind of juice), making costly errors, not holding leads, not getting hits at key points in games. Now, they get to face a guy who they haven't been able to figure out in 4 career matchups. (Bonderman 3-1 2,20era vs. TB, lost 3-1 in early 2003). Kazmir has a 6.55 era in 2 starts vs. Det. Carlos Guillen will not play today, btw. Detroit should have scoring opprotunities all day, considering the lack of control Kazmir has shown this season. His saving grace is that he keeps the ball in the yard.
Houston -1 1/2 (+124) (1 unit)...Encouraged by the fact that Hou is hitting the ball a little bit of late, otherwise laying -1 1/2 on the Stros ANYTIME wouldn't be smart, imo. Funny stat/Hou .208 vs Lefties, but .283 vs. Lefties at home. What more can you say about Clemens, this guy is AMAZING!! Ariz has struggled vs. hard throwing righties, and The Rocketman can still bring it.Arizona is very high on Halsey (he was a key to the Big Unit trade happening), but he is starting to struggle now that teams have had a good look at him, and get a good read on him. He has started walking people also, something he hadn't done early on. He is also prone to the longball, 2 bad combos when pitching in Houston.
