I just bought Carrie Underwood at 38 for 10 contracts. I have never done this interactives thing before.

So if she wins I would be paid $100 for each contract ( $1000) and I would lose $380 if she loses the contest? Is that right?

OK I think I've got it now. I would get $1000 total, since I laid out $380 the winnings would be $620. That makes sense.

You are correct.............and you can sell at ANY time leading up to the event at whatever the price is at.

Mr Smith, you can also sell contracts too. Its the same as "shorting" in the stock market. I did not know who was going to win America's Idol, but I did know Vonzell was not going to win so I sold her contracts. I cashed!
